Don’t necro a thread because someone was mean to you… news flash, people who hide behind keyboards who play video games will be mean. This isn’t something exclusive to WoW. Mute them and move on and if you seriously are effected by it you should stop playing or seek professional help and talk to someone.
I think it can be a grey area, because obviously the situation is if people aren’t doing enough dps or whatever else, well the boss isn’t going to die…
No but also people who put themselves into this position have to realize other people should have the option whether or not they want to train someone in a dungeon they are going into for whatever reason.
And you still haven’t answered my question why necro a 5 month old thread - like how did you even find this.
I agree remove the goodie bags and make them wait 30 plus minutes in queue as well.
5 months later, it’s still a relevant topic. More so than the corruption system or gear that changes every expansion. Bullying is something that can’t be fixed with a new patch. People should speak up about it and its negative impact.
There is no reason to bully, people who waste other people’s time should just be kicked if the group is of that mind.
I will never understand the impulse to be mean. I guess I’m grateful because I just don’t have it.
I get tilted. I get impatient. I get frustrated. I have left pug groups (not M+; calm down) when things got ridiculous beyond my ability to enjoy the game through it.
I have NEVER lashed out at someone or used abusive language in a group, and I cannot fathom why people do this. It makes no sense to me.
But here’s the thing: There are garbage people out there who have never learned to restrain themselves, have never developed patience, have never developed empathy, and are so self-centered and myopic about life in general that yelling at people online is their primary source of daily self-validation.
Whether it’s in a video game, on social media, or in a comment section somewhere, these people are miserable, and they are to be pitied.
So…Pity them and move on.
As you should be
Then ignore the peeps and find a new group like grown ups do
Yes they are limited but they do work.
Thats on you deal with it. Your need for revenge is your issue
Yes its what grown ups do. We let the owner of the game police it.
Ive seen people openly bash conservative christians and get nothing. Whats your point?
Well we all know why
Its not ruining my game play. You need to stop speaking for everyone. Im more annoyed by the carry spammers.
someone has never played eve online.
This is the problem with 5 month old necros. Very often people you respond to have already forgotten about this thread IF they are still playing.
Pugging and bad guilds can be toxic af, hence why I avoid both.
Most of the guilds I’ve been in have been too far on the coddling/bullying spectrum for bad players but I’ve also been in hardcore guilds where jobless 35+ year olds scream slurs at anyone playing slightly below optimally, and I’ll take the nice guilds every time.
The lack of moderation, community support, and care is going to be this game’s downfall.
WoW isn’t the king anymore.
And the rising monarchs do far more for their communities than this game ever has. It only gets worse as reasonable well adjusted people leave for greener horizons.
Funny how we have to tolerate it here, but every other game I play that isn’t a MoBA/FPS - games that are actually community focused - aren’t nearly as bad.
And they continue to grow and thrive.
Well said.
Remember the most difficult opponent you will tank in pugs will be your own group.
Consider the source. What kind of person has to insult others over a meaningless video game?
Pity them. Theyre going to need it.
Report and move along.
This is my new tanking mantra while playing. It’s so good.
Play with friends, find a good guild you’ll get along with, ignore the trolls and other immature fools out there. Trust me, it makes for a much better gaming experience.
Blizzard can’t fix how people are, but you can choose what to do for yourself.
Have you ever played Fable?
You literally start out getting ‘bullied’ by EVERYONE. You are jeered at, ridiculed, and called ‘chicken chaser’. That’s part of the character’s journey. It’s something they have to overcome.
My advice? Use it. Adapt to the criticism you recieve. Overcome it.
You start as an unremarkable, destitute, weak character with no friends, no accomplishments, and no prospects. By the time you get to level 120, you’ve gone on a journey. You’ve done remarkable things, you may not be rich but you certainly have the means to do that if you choose, you’re not weak, you probably have countless friends, accomplishments, and avenues to explore the game.
The funny thing about having an entire world as a game is that we’re all students of it whether we want to be or not. The hardest environments produce the most compelling characters.
I mean pretty much don’t feed the trolls/bullies and also don’t harass them or anyone else. Other wise you will end up being like them and have worst consequences.
Honestly at this point just ignore them.
Toxicity is at an all-time low. Now people just tend to leave rather than talk smack
Also, telling a player they are underperforming in challenging, group based content isn’t bullying. To Maliciously and spitefully publicize their shortcomings would be bullying.
No! BAD BLOOD ELF! BAD! No necroing!
Bad dog!
