Wow I think this is finally it for me, the final straw. I got robbed by blizzard

Should the fine print have been more noticeable? Sure.

But dear lord, my man. Spending over 100 bucks on two battle pets.

Source is second hand info from the forums but I think if you charge back through your bank they return the money then ban your account.

Someone else may know more.

That would be perfect honestly, 20 years of purchases on my account, buying ALL their in game mounts and pets and toys, other services and costs and promotions, and then in the end they will ban a lucrative account because I wont let them steal from me? Its perfect, let them.

This is how I know you are going to keep playing and nothing is going to come of this lol.

“Fine Print” is just that, but in this case, it was on the item, and not buried in some URL hidden Refund Policy at the time you cashed out. If you want to get into semantics…

When you go to the site, in the top right corner is even has USD as the default currency and the URL does not have a .ca in it anywhere. Nearly every digital code in WoW’s history has been US only.

I get it. You are embarrassed. You are pissed. It’s understandable. But if you have lived in CA longer than two weeks, you would have already experienced this with other online codes, even those not from Blizz. It applies to all of their digital content.

Even WoW’s own community council acknowledged it 3 weeks ago:

Continuing the discussion from External Promotions being US only:

Maybe some day they go global, until then, it’s just lesson learned.

I would advise against permanently giving up your account over this.

i cannot believe that someone spends so much money on this and then complain about this money . if you could afford this you are rich enough to not complain here , unless you just spent your grocery money . what a fool

What are you talking about? Ive bought just about everything blizzard sells, NEVER had an issue with living in Canada. Im supposed to be reading the news about random mountain dew and candy promotions that have nothing to do with me? Im simply shopping at their online store and expecting to get what is advertised when I pay for it, you are trying to relate store items with random food promotions, they are NOT the same.

Hey partner eh cowboi, heard you having country issues eh? does dam immigrants! come to kansas and i’ll show you how to respect :us: :eagle:

This really isn’t needed. OP make a thread over in CS, you’ll get good info without antagonizing posts such as these.

That’s weird the pet isn’t included outside the US. I wonder why?

I’m not even sure if the gear store is run by Blizz itself, but I’m not surprised they’d do this. I don’t think there’s much moral decisions going on at Blizz right now.

I am comparing Digital code promotions to digital code promotions. Buy a plushy, get a battle pet code. Buy a Mtn Dew, get a battle pet code. Like I said, you are pissed and embarrassed, and if you were thinking more rationally, and less emotionally, you would see it too.

Legends Global Merchandise, LLC operates the Blizzard Gear Store. Legends is a licensed merchandise partner of Activision Blizzard, the company that owns the Blizzard Gear Store’s branding, logos, and trademarks. They’ve run it since Feb 2022.

You definitely got robbed. All gaming companies do this scummy crap. Ever since walking in to GameStop, turning in 10 video games and getting $10 back lol.

Or even seeing how difficult it is finding the unsub button. Or when you resub they have you automatically have the most expensive one year sub pre selected first lmao. It’s predatory I tell you. That’s why I believe you when you say you were robbed. I’m sure the Canadian warning is in 4 point font on some random part of the screen surrounded by thousands of text because the Battle.net website sucks so much

Who in their right mind thinks that’s a good idea?

Problem is its not against the law to push the lines of marketing to the point of where its obviously misrepresented.

The law allows this, and that should give you an idea about how certain “laws” are just rigged for businesses rather than buyers.

The one that makes me crack up is when theres a radio ad and the disclaimer is somebody speaking so quick its gibberish.

Basically buyer beware in whatever you buy these days…

While I sympathize at the annoyance of not getting something outside of the US, you lost me when you mentioned dumping the Funko Pop into the trash, lol.
I’m getting that for the pop more than the digital item, haha.

Anyway, sorry for your troubles. :frowning:
