Im in total shock, I know some of you will think “well you should have read the fine print at the bottom” lol but regardless of that this is too much.
I saw the info about the new thrall pet plushie that comes with an in game pet that is very kool. Was hoping the price was reasonable but no its $80 Canadian with shipping. Was just about to give up on that idea when I saw there was also a funko pop murloc that also comes with an in game pet. Im a massive pet collector so I justified this purchase with the fact the shipping does not increase if I buy multiple items, I even added a baseball cap I didnt really want but wanted to really get my moneys worth of the shipping fee. So landed up spending $140 CAD for 2 in game pets, the plushie and funko would go straight in the garbage lol. Paid and… didnt get an email with the in game pet codes, so did a search and sure enough find out others complaining that Canadians cannot get the in game pets as its only for US residents, NO WHERE did I see tha disclaimer at checkout, but looking closely at the item page ya its there way down the page in fine print… So I just got robbed of $140. I cant take it, I mean Ive been playing this game for 20 years but when they have a system like this set up to entice you to spend money only to be told oh you should really read the fine print and we dont give refunds… well its too much. I feel so robbed. They are a huge company they dont need to rob people like this. Just let me cancel the order and for the love of god put it in bold type at the top of the page that MY REGION DOES NOT GET THE IN GAME PET.
I stick it out with a lot of things but this is finally it, its too much. Thieir greed and trickery is out of control at this point. No you cant have my gold.
It’s possible you’ll have to take this up with the gear store however I would put in a ticket immediately and explain what happened without any fluff, just the specifics. At the very least a GM should be able to point you in the right direction.
Dude what are you doing spending that much for two virtual pets /: realistically call your bank and do a charge back, 80% of the time you’ll get a understanding guy and the bank will just charge back the money after investigating and half the time they don’t investigate if you dont have a history of charging back they’ll just believe you the first couple times.
I mean, it wasn’t even at the check out, it is literally in the description on the right. This is not the first time someone from Canada has talked about the “For US Residents only” tag. There were like 40+ Mtn Dew Cycle threads in the past two weeks talking about this very thing. I’m sorry that you did not read the entire product description, and also sorry that you live outside of the US where this has been a thing since 2013 when it was still just the “Blizzard Store” that came at the end of MoP.
If you dont call that fine print at the bottom I dont know what is. Also the mountain dew stuff doesnt cost anyone money, theres no chance to rob anyone, you cant even buy the product in Canada so no loss, the plushie and funko on the other hand advertise the in game pet very clearly IN BOLD LETTERS and then in tiny print way down the page mention only for US, this is fraud. They are counting on non americans buying their stupid toy for the game pet.
Because while I agree it sucks that you feel swindled, technically it was in the print so reporting this as fraud would basically be lying and will likely get your bnet account locked down until you pay it back. Your best and safest option is to find out what your options are for a refund and pursue those.
You can also ask over in the CS forum you’ll get some accurate advice there for this situation.
