So I shouldn’t trust you telling me not to trust people?
Whatever lets you sleep at night. I know I am right and if my viewpoint on offends you that’s your problem.
I am not offended at all.
Just you are telling me basically not to trust anyone. So I am concerned about if I should trust you telling me this. Since you said basically not to trust anyone.
Projecting that I am offended seems to be important to your view point.
No there wasn’t, I was there, this is complete revisionist nonsense here. Warcraft 3 had an entire campaign on Dranoer. People were mostly upset with the Draenei being changed.
No it didn’t, OMG so off here it is not even funny. Again, did you even play Warcraft 3?
Legion was largely praised my dude. Again, you’re revising history here to try to make excuses for the modern game.
At least we agree that the modern game stinks from what I’m reading from your comments.
pretty sure the execs arent the ones writing the script…its more like the knights that are writing the script.
you obviously didnt notice all the issues with legendaries not dropping or players getting subpar ones and being borderline mandatory for heoric and mythic raiding. and the horrible pathfinder requirements. and the tying pvp quests to professions. and how grindy artifact power was in the beginning.
Yes. There were.
Yes. it did. This isnt even a rare take. You can find plenty of old threads talking about how poorly TBC treated lore characters.
Not until the very end.
Legion had a LOOOT of early complaints. Rightfully so.
I got to spend 6 amazing years in San Diego before having to bow out due to the cost of housing.
But California has been one of the best locations I’ve ever been. I’m not super cultured but I’ve spent time in about 35 of the 50 states and about 10 different countries. Southern CA is amazing (well at least San Diego and the surrounding area, I’m not a huge fan of LA it’s so crowded).

I didn’t really enjoy Legion, mainly how it was designed. The story was fine.
Doesn’t feel this way to me, on the contrary the return of the Dragon Aspects makes it feel more WoW than ever.
Honourable mention to BFA for feeling very Warcrafty
That doesn’t change the fact that it was largely praised.

TBC was better than BFA, SL and DF hands down. The older versions of the game built the foundation of what the modern game stands on now.
ehhhh…
not on release it wasnt.
By a loud minority. The expac brought back a lot of people. Who quit because of what looked like a faction war expac
Would you rather go back to a expansion that doesn’t feel like Warcraft and disrespects the while Franchise itself or would you rather be with a expansion that not only feels like warcraft but also has some interesting dragon fantasy?
i fear they are focusing on the mmo part of the mmorpg. and that rpg is very important flavor for the dish.

At least you are honest on when sexual harassment is acceptable to you.
Yep, I truly don’t care about what the devs are doing behind the scenes. All I care about is if the game is good.

Who else here feels like the game’s story and aesthetics don’t feel very Warcraft these days?
Well they said they were going to expand their view to see the other realms like Life, Death, Light, Void, etc. After Shadowlands (i.e. Death) they did come back to Azeroth and Dragons are part of the story that’s been around for a long time.
Of course we are used to them going back and forth between:
- Alliance v. Horde - AND-
- Alliance and Hord v. Burning Legion

ehhhh
Sub numbers would indicate that. While there are plenty of gameplay reasons why subs have declined over the years, the tonal shift of the game is also a large reason why subs have declined so much they stopped even publishing the numbers. This stuff just isn’t popular.
Thats why when WoD was announced and released there was a spike from 5 million back up to 10 million players. The cinematic was pure Warcraft and got people hyped.

got a source for that? exit surveys of some kind?

That data is not public. But WoD’s unusual spike in returning players would indicate that it is a big factor. Same with the reaction to Dragonflights marketing. It was mocked thoroughly due to the dracthyr aesthetic.
I don’t know who this was made for but it certainly wasn’t towards Warcraft’s core audience. Its pretty hard to mess up dragons but they did it, and people have voted with their wallets.
