Wow classic dying? No longer any "full" servers

OK, Tankskie.

Where?

This doesn’t explain why you brought the 2 year claim into this conversation.

Well nothing lasts forever, even N64 cartridges… but the lifespan of N64 cartridges isn’t relevant to a discussion about the lifespan of WoW.

I’m the one who made the point.

If it’s just a few people, the game is dead. Thus a few people cannot keep the game alive.

Raiding, PvPing, Dungeons, Questing, grinding, etc are all parts of what makes WoW WoW.

If you can’t do some of these, the game is dead.

You’re free to be wrong.

It would be dead in a much more abstract sense, but not equally so. At least those people can experience the whole game if they so choose.

Please be specific.

That’s a dead MMO.

Again, it’s not relevant to my point.

For there to be “enough people to group”, you generally need more than just the 40 players.

Levelers, farmers, grinders, dungeon runners, PvPers, questers, etc are all essential parts of the experience.

If you only have one of these groups, the game isn’t alive anymore.

Your attitude indicates you think this is some kind of point… but I never claimed the game was dead or dying. I merely gave a definition of “dead”.

Those pservers had all kinds of players on them, and so they weren’t dead.

My server seems pretty full. Everytime I want to farm something, there are too many people and I leave.

Yes and get bwl and zg on release too.

This is the content drought wow always has. Everyone has mc gear and av rep. Only the few crazys going for high rank pvp. When mc is on 2 hour farm not alot to log in for. Have to wait for bwl.

This is why most of my friends quit. Same ole dumb face palm decision making on blizzards part.

Let pve people get super geared before allowing pvp’rs to get the gear the way they want.

I think the reason classic is dying is because everybody is realizing how hard it is. you think you want classic but you don’t. Retail ftw.

Other Forum Posters :cocktail:

I brought it into the conversation because other Forum Posters and kind of you seem to think that Classic is dying or will die and be inaccessible “soon”. And at “some point”, brought up by you, when that is reached, that is when I’ll (as you specified) will have to turn to Private Servers :cocktail:

I was merely defining what that time frame was going to look like :cocktail:

Again, with cutting off my Quotes 'cause I did bring it back to WoW, just to appease you:

Retail WoW has yet to be shutdown even if some people classify it as “dead” :cocktail:

So did I :cocktail:

Again, no. 'Cause even you were astounded that Private Servers gained popularity, since they only started off with “just a few people”. It only takes a few to people to influence more people and become alive, again :cocktail:

Define “can’t”? 'Cause I can’t PvP to save my life. Does that mean, the game is now “dead”, simply because I cannot PvP? :cocktail:

So are you :cocktail:

So, one has to experience the whole game, in order for a game to be alive? So, having 1 of each class to max level, both Horde and Alliance, with all Professions, Reputations up to Exalted, completed all Quests, Raids and BGs, means that player is now experiencing an “alive” game? :cocktail:

Other Forums Posters, that aren’t you and me, on these Classic Forums :cocktail:

So, even if with 1 million Soloers, it’s a “dead” game? :cocktail:

It is relevant. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have said it :cocktail:

Again, you don’t need 40 people to clear out MC :cocktail:

In your perspective. 'Cause even if only one of those groups exist in a large size, you still classify it as “dead” :cocktail:

It does 'cause as you stated:

So, they started off with just a few people, according to your definition is “dead” and “can’t be brought to life”, but they did. 'Cause it only takes a few people to influence more people :cocktail:

Agreed, however they did start off with “just a few people” :cocktail:

It’s the holidays 2 weeks ago herod was full last week herod was full. It will pick up after the 1st

  1. It is the holidays, some lucky people are away visiting family/friends
  2. Pop listing on server select is a Dynamic, not an Absolute
  3. Realms have a much larger login cap than in vanilla
  4. It’s still a work day for many of us, we are at work
  5. The sky is falling, the sky is falling

Also, doesn’t activity tend to die down over the Christmas period, with people off doing family stuff or away from home?

Which ones?

I didn’t say that… so what does it have to do with me?

And again you’re ignoring the point.

Retail isn’t dead yet.

By ignoring mine. Twice now.

Most didn’t actually. Fresh private servers typically start with a substantial population.

You’re being deliberately obtuse.

Nope.

This isn’t specific.

Again. Deliberately obtuse.

You’ve said multiple things that aren’t relevant.

Not relevant.

If you have insufficient people to support the activities that make up WoW, then it’s dead.

It does? Does what… indicate you think that was some kind of point?

Often, they didn’t start with only a few people.

This is how Vanilla went and is how private servers go.

Zul Gurub and Blackwing Lair are known as the “golden era” on private servers. It is when the first wave of casual players start to drop off and competitive players have achieved their PvP goals.

By AQ40 a huge majority of the population will quit the game due to the time investment required to raid and lack of content anywhere else in the game outside of raiding.

Around Naxxaramas the PvPers start to drop off quite a bit due to the gear itemization making PvP feel even more unbalanced than it already is, and a lot of guilds split due to a lack of player base to recruit from and simply not being able to keep up with the consumable requirements to run Naxx.

You narativizing spergs just don’t give up do you. Don’t you have something positive to do somewhere else?

No, we are all stuck at work :frowning:

Wow it’s the holiday who knew ppl has lives.

Ignore the most recent few days because it usually takes some time to get all the reports in. It’s been on the steady decline since November.

Wow will only die or go into life support when there is a better game out . Maybe in 2025?

New content will definitely bring people back for sure. I think too many may have rushed through everything too fast. As a result many might have burned themselves out.

Yes, it’s dying. But it’ll be a long time before it dies enough that it’s a serious issue.

The game’s designed to be played with 4-5k players per realm max. You’d need realms to be sub 1k before we have issues directly related to overall realm populations.
