WoW - Character data corrupted

My character’s appearance data has been corrupted or bugged since last night. Furthermore, my Armory page on the website returns a 404, which leads me to think something about my character on the server itself has encountered an error. This is a problem for me trying to apply to raid groups for tomorrow because they can’t verify my character’s gear or item level. In addition to that - my character’s appearance is missing textures and sometimes will randomly remove my chest piece and have very inappropriate nipples showing. Very bizarre.

I’ve tried toggling on and off all addons and reinstalled the game this morning after waiting 10 hours to see if it resolved; no luck. When I try to use the barber service or the dragon mount appearance platform I get the error, “You cannot use this while shapeshifted” but I have no shapeshifted buff or debuff to right-click off. Help!

I was doing the World PVP event near the Cobalt Assembly and my character model was switched with a Dracthyr Evoker from Gurubashi. This isn’t just appearance, as other players saw me with his name/realm. I’ve left group, dropped war mode, gone into an arena skirmish, died, and used toys. I’m still stuck as this guy. I’ve logged out, so now I come up as Unknown with his model. My character still functions as a Blood Death Knight, but every other player sees me as Unknown. I’m assuming my charact…

For what it’s worth, your armory pulled right up for me.

If the current gear/ilevel isn’t correct, what you can do is log completely out of the forums, then log back in. If that doesn’t work, then try changing your password. Those two things usually takes care of the majority of armory updating issues, but past that there isn’t much that can be done. The site has a mind of it’s own sometimes.

Thank you! I noticed that the armory page loaded and logged back in, hopeful that my character model would be corrected but no luck still.

It’s very strange, I now looks like a male dracthyr with none of my own appearance settings and my visage form has a very low-resolution face and missing textures causing large holes in the skull. My transmog settings also don’t change when I try.

But I guess I can look ugly so long as I can confirm my ilvl…

So long as the ilevel is correct, perhaps the rest will have some kind of fix with tomorrow’s maintenance. ^^

You can also report it to the website bug report forum. The website come along way but the armory can be notoriously buggy.

I’ve reported in the bug forum too; seems like the website/armory has fixed itself, but my in-game character model is still all sorts of wrong. Also, a guildie said he can’t see my name, just “Unknown” when he targets me. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Sanazandrov - have you done a proper reset UI?

May not fix all of this - but it’s important to rule things out even if it doesn’t help.

Some of this does sound UI related - and even reinstalling the game won’t necessarily deal with the folders involved.

With the game shut down totally - either rename, move or delete your WTF, Cache and Interface folders.

You could also restart your system - although that’s not usually necessary.

See if that makes a difference.

Just gave it a shot, including restarting my whole machine. Sadly, I am still an ugly little low-resolution texture-missing gremlin.

That’s very odd, and the first report I’ve seen like that.

Could you possibly write this up in bugs with as many details as possible. Please do mention you’ve done the reset UI.
