Hello,
This is an extension of this conversation on the Customer Support forums: WoW - Character data corrupted
I’m on NA, Area 52. After playing in the Cobalt Assembly area last night around 9pm EST, my character model was “switched” with another character that was in my party. I thought it might be an effect from the arcane doodads you pick up in that area - I admit I wasn’t reading them closely.
After I Hearthstoned out of the area, my character morphed into being a dracthyr body type 1 with completely different appearance settings from my own. I’m a body type 2 dracthyr with black and gold coloration; this dracthyr form was type 1, dark green with white horns and accessories.
Even stranger, my visage form no longer reflected my transmog settings and when I removed my armor to see what was wrong, I found that my character’s model was completely messed up. My face is “smooshed”, my eyes are Mickey Mouse-like dots, and the temples of my character’s skull seem to be floating a head higher than the rest of her head, resulting in holes in the textures of her skull. Nothing about the appearance is correct, from the appearance settings, from the base gear, to the transmog.
What is strange is in my character “C” window, the preview of my character is accurate.
When others target me, my name shows as “Unknown” and when I attempt to retrieve information about my character with the /dump GUID lua commands, the console returns nil values. I’m stumped!
What I’ve tried:
Disabling all add-ons
Relogging
Dying and respawning
Dying and paying spirit healer for res sickness
Reinstalling the entire game
Resetting my UI files in accordance with instructions from the lovely customer support staff in the aforementioned forum thread
None of this has worked and I’m still an ugly texture-missing, low-resolution gremlin. Help!
For what it’s worth, I seem to be having a similar problem as these unresolved issues from this forum last week.
