Would people be interested in paid early access to Classic

It’s a world first for classic. People will still call it world first. That doesn’t mean we ignore the guys 15 years ago. Videos will have both vanilla and classic kill times.

No its not. This isn’t like Cata where Nef and Rag are different fights. Its the exact same version of Ragnaros that people killed 15 years ago. It’s already been done.

They are wrong to do so.

Of course you’re ignoring them the guys from 15 years ago, lol. Calling anything done in Classic “world first” is the very definition of it.

That is actually something that might make me decide to play it. As it is now I probably wont play unless they launch new servers a year or so down the line. I’m not dealing with the dead servers and merges that will come from giving everyone trial access to live servers.

If they offered paid early access though, there is a good chance that early servers would actually fill up with Classic players, and not be flooded with retail tourists.

I would prefer a sort of premium access account that gives access to exclusive servers, but this might work.

I would not want to pay for early access but rather pay to play on launch day, and everyone who doesn’t want to pay to play on launch day can play for free with the existing sub a week after launch day.

They will fill up with those not wishing to be behind and that includes tourists who don’t know their tourists. All this will do is add money to blizz coffers and you will still have the same over populated launch/sharding you were trying to avoid. Then everyone will claim blizz milked the playerbase because of greed.

You want to avoid dead servers? Starting finding a guild now or recruit and make your own. Get a bnet community going. Idc but throwing more money at blizz for a “headstart” under the guise of population control? Yea that’s tauren droppings because it is not going to work the way you guys think. More will pay for this than you guys think. I’m against mtx and I would buy this because I won’t play catch up this time…
I’m glad blizz isn’t trying to soak the player base off this. Let them get their cash grab of returning subs to pay dev costs and let it run it’s course. Paid headstart is nothing but milking the player base.

lol, I read what you’re saying loud and clear dude. I don’t think you get what you’re saying and you’re trying to evade now by saying “Everyone else is gonna call it that.”

We’re not just strangers to each other; we’re supposed to be building a community here. Some guild advertising itself as getting the world-first kill of Ragnaros to poach recruits is lying to the community. Anyone who wants to build a worthwhile community in Classic should care about that. Words matter, homeslice.

wouldn’t surprise me to find out that those promoting this idea, while denying it has to do with firsts, are already in guilds with that very goal in mind.

i was nervous about this, but i think Blizzard won’t cave. They have expressed in the past the respect they have for the race to firsts, and whatever it may be called, the race is a thing no matter what the deniers may say. That’s why guilds are advertising as ‘Hardcore’. Even if its Classic WOW First, its still a first, and still a thing.
