I just copy/pasted the definition from Merriam-Webster to correct your misunderstanding of “authoritative”. Merriam-Webster has been the most authoritative producer of dictionaries for 200 years. Attempting to argue that Merriam-Webster is wrong will only convince the educated here that you are a fool. But I’m sure Bloomsday will support you.
Either that or I’m apathetic to things. Why would I subject myself to something I actively dislike? That would be nonsensical.
aaand there goes your already failing attempt at a point.
Because, who said I dislike WOTLK? Considering I play it.
I am convinced that there is a subsection of the player base that just enjoys being perpetually angry and mad about stuff. They get off on it. It’s not the full video game experience if they’re not incensed about something in it. To each their own.
It reminds me of a Monty Python sketch:
Customer: “I’m here for an argument”
Arguer: “No you’re not”
Customer: “yes I am”
Arguer: “No you’re not”
Customer: “You’re just objecting to everything I say - that’s not an argument”
Arguer: “yes it is”
You’re literally gaslighting by trying to pretend that I’ve stated something I didn’t. That’s evil, and wrong.
You are a very bad actor.
Good luck in your life.
Wait, what point do you think I failed to make?
No one? I’m saying why would I, not you, you are not I, why would I subject myself to something I actively dislike? You really can’t keep up at all, can you?
When did I say I dislike the game? I dislike that they don’t have RDF, big difference. You okay bud? Hit your head or something? Getting flashes of vietnam?
You didn’t? When did ANYONE say that you did?
Ironic, considering you’re the one that can’t even keep up with what other people are saying.
You must not dislike it that much, since you’re still playing and paying.
Backing out your assumption because you have nothing to back it up? Figures. Caught in bad ing.
Nope, just you not knowing how to read again. Can you quote where I made this assumption? I’ll wait.
Gotcha, thanks for proving me right then.
And the reason you can’t quote it is because it was never assumed. Glad we cleared that up for you.
Again, just adding to the proof that I’m right. Not even you believe you, go back to be the amusing puppet who thinks he’s smarter than he is.
How so? I used authoritative correctly in a sentence. You replied, “appeal to authority” which isn’t what authoritative means and isn’t what I did. So I gave you the definition of authoritative from the Merriam-Webster dictionary. That seems to me to be an accurate description of our dialog. I’m not trying to pretend anything. You should look up the phrase “appeal to authority” and “authoritative” so you can understand your error and learn from your mistake.
Well then you’ve been quite lucky or you’re not very discerning. I have never played a game that I like everything about. Every game has been a cost/benefit analysis. If the things I like about a game exceed the things I dislike I play the game. If the things I dislike exceed the things I like I don’t.
I am convinced that there is a subsection of the player base that just enjoys being perpetually angry and mad about stuff.
Since you have so often engaged in angry arguments here I can only think you posted this as a confession.
Well then you’ve been quite lucky or you’re not very discerning.
Nope, I’m just intelligent enough to not waste my time on things I actively dislike.
I have never played a game that I like everything about.
So why do you continue playing them?
. If the things I like about a game exceed the things I dislike I play the game. If the things I dislike exceed the things I like I don’t.
Right, so the things you like about Classic Wrath still outweigh the things you dislike about it? So what you’re saying is the lack of RDF really isn’t that big of problem.
It’s always nice when you discredit your own position and your own arguments. It makes this a lot easier, thank you.
so the things you like about Classic Wrath still outweigh the things you dislike about it?
No, I have not played classic since they announced that rdf would not be added. The addition of the cata loot boxes reinforced that decision.
Since you have so often engaged in angry arguments
Oh, yes I get angry (not in the last year) - been a few times in the past people have attacked me for stuff and I made an angry response. But I’m not angry unless someone is actually abusive. I don’t think I’ve ever made an angry post about a game mechanic though - not often at least. Certainly not recently ;p nice try though.
Disagreeing with someone is not the same as anger btw.
For instance - I’m not on the forums every day demanding features and angry at Blizzard for not delivering. I wouldn’t mind RDF - but I’m not angry it’s not in the game. Heck it wasn’t in the original until around ICC. I’m not entitled to it and I’m not here demanding Blizzard to deliver it on my timeframe.
I’m convinced there are people who love having stuff to complain about with the game - not really referring to heated discussion so much as constant campaigns for features and “fixes”… generally being bolshy about the game itself. I don’t begrudge it though - I reckon some people just like getting on a mission for stuff. It’s part of what they like about MMO’s. If it were a different game they’d be on a campaign for a feature or change in that as well.
Disagreeing with someone is not the same as anger btw.
It probably is the reasoning behind the disagreeing.
