[WotLK] Let's talk Dungeon Finder

I have done THOSANDS of rdf heroics and for leveling.

I have used the tool a lot from when it was added up to legion. I saw how it worked. Its not nearly as good a system as you are trying to paint it out to be.

Blizzard seems to actively be trying to make sure they’re not healthy. Gotta pump those micro-transaction profits.

Nope, if i use rdf it can put me in group with people from other realms.

Nope, sorry, you don’t get decide what a “healthy group forming time” is. You have absolutely no literature on what constitutes the definition of this.

45 minutes before the group is cross realm eligible. All servers.

I thought you don’t want to use RDF though? Can you no longer form groups with it in game?

I’m not deciding anything, I’m saying observe what the formation time is given a healthy realm at prime time and use that as the metric.

That’s very different than just picking an arbitrary number.

Even on a scrappy, down-on-their luck server you can form a group in less than 20 minutes during prime time.

The cross-server is not necessary for LFD to be useful. Period.

If I’m even compromising on that one specific part of LFD, then there is a wait time so that it incentivizes you to finish forming the group yourself before it would reach that point, and the wait needs to be significant.

Remember: the alternative is no RDF at all. Keep that in mind.

Imagine someone actually trying to push design to make the game more tedious and boring and frustrating. Starting to think he might be a Retail dev in disguse.

The alternative will be dead servers and nothing but whales competing to outspend each other. Everyone else will be on pservers or playing FF14.

Except at that point it’s not a question of forming the group yourself as the server simply isn’t capable of supporting that group regardless of how it’s formed.

LFD isnt necessary period and thats the big fly in their ointment. You cant make a real case for it. All you can reasonably say is you want it really badly and thats never been a good reason.

They seem to think that because it was harder for them back in their day, it should be harder for everyone else, even if an easier, more logical alternative is available. Old man yelling at clouds basically. TBH they don’t belong here, or interacting with anyone else in an online game.

I will not have you further tarnish the wow devs reputation. I mean, I heard about all the bad stuff that went on… but comparing it that guy? That’s a line you shouldn’t cross.

That could literally be an argument for any feature in a GAME.

Is it though? There’s a massive case for RDF. What there isn’t, is a case against it. You (and everyone else thats anti-RDF) entire argument boils down to you simply not wanting it and ignoring all logic.

Thats personal. Your personal attitude and feelings arent what drive development.

Rdf being in game would drastically reduce the number of people forming groups organically.

Think of it like the amish. When technology adanced not everyone had to use it. Now only a few small communities dont use it. And even then they have to use it to some degree. Some Amish do use battery powered lights when traveling at night to be seen on roads for safety reasons, as an example. And i would be effectively forced to use rdf for the daily bonus badges even if i formed my group organically, otherwise i fall behind.

If rdf is added, not using rdf wouldnt be a viable option.

They say they’re right every chance they get. Pretty much that and word salad is all they have going for them.

Maybe it got a lot worse after WoD. I didn’t use it anywhere near as much in Cataclysm and MoP and basically haven’t used it since WoD. In Wrath, it worked perfectly for my needs.

Why would it do that? I thought RDF isn’t popular? Are you admitting that the vast majority of players would rather use it?
