1.) Disappointed by the heavy-handed approach.
2.) Dramatically improves the overall experience for levelling alts. Running (slowly) across the world to get to the dungeon, perhaps after youve spent the better part of an hour putting the group together, is not exactly enjoyable.
3.) Overuse of the RDF tool can and will cause the world to feel less alive, especially at max level.
4.) Yes I think a hybrid system could work well. Enable it for realm-only on high pop servers. Disable it for 70-80 and 80 heroics dungeons, even if just temporarily. Or add an Uber/Lyft-style rating system since some of the concern around RDF is regarding player behavior in the dungeon - if you receive enough negative feedback then youre locked out of RDF for X amount of time.
Every pro argument boils down to one common denominator. Convinience and ease. Its not a solution to an actual global problem, The predominat theme is “I” cant find a group because, a or b or c reason. Reality is there are 100s of groups forming every minute but some lack either the skill or desire to do it manually but still retain a sense of entitlement that their personal issues are a problem with the mechanics and think that devs should fix it for them. This is a general statement not meant to insult only an observation.
There was talk of such a thing after LFD was implemented originally so very long ago. The problem is the guts of it would have to remain a mystery to the players or else they’d find a way to game it for benefit/harassment of themselves and their friends.
I think ultimately they just made a system for vote-kicking people and restrictions on people who abused that would be limited to how often they could initiate a kick.
Yes there are. On my server there are hundreds of GDKP and Boost runs. Legitimate groups sub 70 tho? Very few even on a high pop server. Im not an unemployed 17 year old anymore so I don’t have time to farm mountains or gold, or sit in stormwind for 2 hours while my ST group fills…half way…before giving up.
Your perpetuating negative stereotypes, It doesnt just boil down to pro or against. Each person is an individual and should be shown enough respect not be discriminated against by grouping and labeling them. Im not anti-lfd im a player,

Kek, nice bait

im a player
And I am a man, not a number. Try again later please.
Im not labeling players, Might want to take a moment and actually try and comprehend what im saying than blindly attacking it. Im talking about the argument and proofs given which correct me if im wrong are mainly so players can get into dungeons easier and faster. There is no argument from me that lfd does this, my argument is that the game doesnt need it as its working as intended and weeding low effort players out from getting the better rewards. this is an opinion. I do not single anyone out and if you feel this describes you then maybe your anger is more about facing the truth
But what kind of man are you?
This is getting even better if possible. Blizzards says LFD is not going to be in for sure, then a ray of hope (however small) arrives. Pro LFD folks end up acting like children, ultimately attacking the character of the said Blizzard forum representative.
Even sadder, ya’ll are adults now right?
Alpha is the beginning, Omega is the end, You both have a long way to go, Children are so full of knowledge yet lack the wisdom to properly apply it.
You care, “cringe” lives rent free in your head.

Pro LFD folks end up acting like children, ultimately attacking the character

Nobody cares, that’s cringe
That’s what happens when all the arguments from your side have been dismantled hundreds of times over now. They resort to nonsensical ad hominems. They’re only helping the anti-LFD cause when they do that.
Troll less
Uh oh. Bloomy crawled out from under his lily pad to team up with another trolly anti poster. Must be a day that ends in Y.
At this point I usually refer to them in the 3rd person and don’t message them directly. They hate not getting quoted and replied to.
Seriously, is there a competition for trolling now? Maybe the 10 character minimum is too low and they should require several sentences.
On another note - does anyone have a suggestion on ways of policing in-game in-dungeon behavior other than the restrictions on vote-kicking in retail? Something that might be able to be used with or without LFD?
How about increasing the ignore list? Adding notes to the names I ignore so that I don’t have to second guess myself months later “Am I ignoring Jedimunky because I didn’t like his name, because he ninja-looted in a dungeon or because he said something racist in trade chat?” Why do I have to rely on my memory? I’m old it’s not as great as it used to be.
People are talking about anti or pro LFD. There’s another arguably larger group that just doesn’t care about LFD. So far, every person I’ve talked to in game on my mega server, really don’t care. Is there a huge outcry on your servers discord? Not on ours. In fact, they spend more time making fun of the people who post on the forums than anything. And I’d imagine there are more total people on discord than there are on reddit and the WoW forums. This this whole concept of “polls” as “proof” … give me a break.
And frankly, from a monetary perspective, a sub is just a sub. Pro/Anti/Don’t care LFD. If the loss in subscribers doesn’t out weigh the cost in developing LFD, it won’t happen.
A lot of games have a rating system. You finish the game and give a player a thumbs up or thumbs down kind of thing. If you start to get enough down votes from a lot of different people you get put into the trouble maker pool.
It would be a great thing overall, but as soon as something like this would launch in game someone would be all over reddit or youtube talking about how they got besmirched for no good reason.
I don’t think we’re trying to reinvent the wheel here. You join a random and you either finish or you don’t. If you don’t, you try again. The latter has only happened to me a handful of times in the last decade. People tend to make big deals out things when they think they’re being disrespected.
Blizzard has their reasons and in the face of public outcry they tend to stay silent. I don’t think they ever said a word about CRZ when they forced it on us back in the day. They just put it in and forced us to eat it.

Yeah, a large chunk of it would have to be hidden from the players.

But we could have tank treads! All terrain! Indestructible! Horrible turning radius!
