What are you bolding here? You say something different, not sure what intent you have or what point you’re making?
Meh, I’m not worried. You guys asking for RDF never really give a valid reason why. It doesn’t even need us saying anything anymore, you’ve already buried your chances.
The more I think about it, the less work they want to put into it. I think they feel classic is a “raid log fad”. Sure you’ll get some levelers, but the people at the top log for raids for the most part. The population pulses with content changes, thats about it.
We’ll see, it’s wrath. They’ll milk it for a while. But then what? Same thing - raid log pulses.
Is time not a valid reason? Is not being completely locked out from heroics like in the past not a good enough reason? Is preferring the queue system with friends as opposed to flying there and summoning (me being lazy) not a good enough reason? And finally, is “it was part of the ICC patch back when wrath was retail” not a good enough reason?
Look dude, like it or not, a cross realm dungeon finder is always a good thing. Especially for 15-80 leveling. Low pop feels more alive (ignoring the marketplaces of course). They at least can play most of the game that way.
Ya’ll use the “social aspect” to save face, and pray developers see that and think twice. It’s a bunch of crap. We play the game for selfish reasons. For most of us that played, it’s nostalgia.
For those of us who played wrath back then, the vast majority already has a full friend list, and is playing classic with friends. Not to make new friends. Period. The social aspect you speak of is dog poop.
No, we use it cause it’s an actual valid point, and a good deal of why I play classic instead of moving on from this game completely. Once you sacrifice social aspects of an MMO it’s no longer an mmo, it’s just another instance lounge game of 5-10 players most of the time of people you’ll never speak to again. When you get to know those on your realm and enjoy their company that has a lasting effect on building a more tightly knit community. To pretend it’s some sham we hide behind is an obtuse point of view.
How do you feel about Dungeon Finder not being added to WotLK Classic?
It’s the first step to turning WoW into Retail WoW. A single player game with areas of forced multiplayer.
What do you think are the positives of having Dungeon Finder?
A quick way to reduce workload in game bloated with distractions like dailies, achievements, etc. These aren’t bad things, but for a person who likes it all, there’s just not enough time in the day to do them all.
What do you think are the negatives of having Dungeon Finder?
Never know if you’re going to get a competent or an incompetent group. Additionally it creates and enforces a meta for each dungeon that must be complied with. Any deviations for any reason slows down the group which annoys everyone. No one in the group cares if you want an achievement, want a bonus boss, etc.
** 1. Do you think an hybrid solution could be implemented, whether it be a partial Dungeon Finder or a different solution altogether, and what could that solution be, if you can think of any?**
What I would do is this. Implement it. Let those who want to use it do so. But for those of us who don’t want to use it, give us the option to port to the instance when we’re ready. We’ve all run to the places, we know how to get there. The way I would do it is, group lead initiates a ready check. If everyone hits ready, the party is instantly ported to the instance. To prevent abuse, when you zone out, you get ported to the exact spot you teleported from.
It will always be an MMO if many people are playing. Social or not. This is a recreation of Wrath retail. And you’re making it out to be more than that. The community will die faster than it’s predecessor. It’s the sad truth.
So stop giving me your Cumbaya moments, and saying it’s all about social views. Thats just weak in 2022 Wrath.
Put it back in the game please taking forever to level a tank and healer now. and since no one is using the tool i find myself having to quest by myself as a tank and healer lol TOXIC either put it back in or Allow us to boost as many level 70s per account as we want thanks
You clearly don’t come from the era of actual MMO gameplay, I feel for ya. It’s not about the amount of players itself. It’s about the players you recognize, the world they’re in. It’s about connections and taking on challenges together. It’s about seeing familiar names in zones while you’re leveling. Running multiple dungeons once you find a well knit group that’s down to grind. It’s about remembering the names of your enemies in pvp so you can hunt them down in the open world.
I’m not making it out to be more, you’re simply trying to say it’s less than it actually is. I’m sorry you don’t get your zoomer queues so that you can grind your ilvl all day. Make some friends, put forth an effort, that’s what MMOs are about. Or at least, what they used to be. That’s what many of us are trying to recapture by coming back for the classic versions. Bypassing this process cause you don’t want to invest the time says you either belong in retail, or pick any number of other modern MMOs that are nothing but World of InstanceCraft clones.
Not sure about scaling but before ~58 you can just use proper gear to heal/tank instead of needing to change your spec. Even after that, 60-70 are very easy. Had a paladin tank as ret spec in Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnace at level 62, with a boomkin spec druid healing. He was pulling 2-3 packs at a time and we barely slowed down while in ramps even with his smaller mana pool.
By the time you’re 70 you should have more than enough to cover your dual spec and then you can level as one and dungeon as the other.
I mean are you just making it up? Do you use the LFG tool? The chat? I don’t buy it.
Yeah, lets finish with “RDF ain’t coming”. Makes your whole post more relevant.
We’ll see. I think we’ll get something that reaches across realms. Doesn’t have to be automated. Just makes the most sense.
Keep singing cumbaya though. When most of your server logs for raid logging, or just remembered they blew threw all this crap already, we’ll see how long the nostalgia lasts.
So wotlk with no RDF huh… lol let me know when the last time you got in a group that didnt just want to be summoned everywhere. JUST ADD RDF … it changes NOTHING socially.
