Because leveling from 1-80 was downright terrible at that point. And did not effect the endgame at all. Half of the time you got the exact same piece of gear slot 5 times in a row.
Once you got Naxx gear (ilevel 200) those badges were completely worthless.
Would a repeatable quest in Dalaran instead of the reward through the RDF interface be acceptable if people really do need an extra incentive to do more dungeons? A bit like how Alliance have a repeatable BG quest in TBCC to incentivize players to play.
This same person told me an hour ago there are no extra rewards. I wish he’d make up his mind.
I mean, untold is not true. As has been stated countless times, we have the horror show of retail to look at as the “glorified example” of what the game could eventually become, we just all have disagreements on how exactly it gets there. I personally think RDF and all features similar contribute. I think there is harm for sure, but that doesn’t necessarily mean I’d measure that harm as being so altering that it ruins everything. Like I said, I would still play, so to some degree the game to me is still playable with it despite its presence.
I think the game is better without it though.
It’s just a matter of every little bit helps. You take what you can get. That’s how I look at a change like this. Blizzard has done a lot of dumb things, but this one is one of the best things I’ve ever seen them do, so I’m taking what I’m gonna get.

This was actually added in WoD. It didn’t exist before, I believe it was just a bit of gold and EXP.
You could buy things besides gear with those badges
“Complete a single Northrend dungeon on the Heroic difficulty” instead of a specific, random heroic that changes daily? This is the same as RDF but requires you to pick the quest up first.
The trash bag you get for Alliance queuing isn’t worth actually doing BGs for specifically. It’s a tiny bonus that usually equates to junk. If you’re not honour grinding, nobody is going to be doing a BG for that reward.
Non-Daily badges from heroic badges were worthless. It wasn’t until they added heirlooms that anybody wanted them. I had 100’s of them leading up to heirlooms.
Yes. I remember. You got a little XP and a blue. I think the XP was worth the equivalent of a quest XP turn in. It was nice but hardly anything special.
You could buy 232 gear with emblems of triumph by ICC.
Meh, I respect your crappy opinion even though it’s crappy shrug. You are obviously a somewhat intelligent person who came to the conclusion you did for some kind of reason, so I at least respect the life experience you clearly had to endure that brought you there.
Lmao, you sound like Ziryus talking about dual spec…
Plenty of reasons have been provided, friend. Just because you’re ignoring them or consider them invalid doesn’t mean they haven’t been stated…
I’m not doing anything. I’m simply approving of what Blizzard is doing.
You have issues, mate.

The bag? It was in wrath.
Did they upconvert them form the OG emblems? I know up until then they weren’t worth a spit. The end bag rewards were not a selling point of any wrath dungeon from what I remember.
And it contained 9 gold and 5% chance at a blue gem.
Are you certain? This isn’t the most reliable thing in the world, but …
‘https://wotlkdb.com/?currency=301#currency-for:0-2’ just looks like a bunch of BoP gear.
Every new tier they let you use the currency to buy the prior tier.
People saying the emblems from dungeons weren’t useful don’t know what they’re talking about.

No, it contained blue gear, that you generally already had.
You could downrank them to heroism and buy things like frozen orbs
There are a few BoE epics, heirlooms, and epic quality gems (once they existed) that you could buy with badges. I’m not certain, but I’m pretty sure you could also buy certain PvP gear peices with old badges as well.
My bad, I looked at the wrong ones. Heroism was the starter ones.

Fine. You win. They had some rewards. If you consider a leveling blue at lower levels and trivial XP at lower levels, and a sack with a catch up badge and 9 gold in it a gamebreaker then… That’s you. I don’t think they were anything special.
If you were raiding, you did not need them at all. The lower emblems that is.
