[WotLK] Legendary Weapons and PvP

Big doubt right here.

Extreme hypocrisy.

Hmm… can you level to max level with no pve?

Considering that you actually have to obtain it like Atiesh yes, the amount of people who’ll have one is less than the number of people who have glaives/thori’dal.

It takes months to get each one, to say that you doubt that is actually baffling.

Can’t you level through BG’s? As in like just doing them normally or am I wrong on that?

Doesn’t even deserve a response, do you even read what you write?

Less then glaives sure, but it will still be everywhere I guarantee it. I’d bet money on it.

Yes you can in wrath.

what about the engineering belt

I mean yeah but that’s my point, I’m not saying that they’ll be scarce, I’m just saying that they’ll be less people with them than glaives/thori’dal. I played during Naxx in classic, I know how many people had an Atiesh, it takes ~2 months to get one and you’re only going to be giving it to one person at a time per raid.

You’re not really even challenging anything I’m saying, you’re just saying the same thing but more with more words.

It will therefore heavily impact those arena seasons.

Yes, because every legendary goes to a person that PvP’s. a single weapon, legendary or not isn’t going to make someone suddendly great at PvP, I’ll say that it might increase their rating but won’t increase it by much. I also wouldn’t say it’d heavily impact the arena seasons, sure it’ll impact it but not as much as you’d think.

Look, Blizzard isn’t going to change it. They didn’t do anything when BT released and I’d be surprised if they did anything for Shadowmourne and Val’anyr.

Yet they killed engineering and other items.

Okay, so they made it so that anyone who PvP’s doesn’t feel forced to get engineering and they banned a trinket from the previous expansion probably because no one is going to run a BWL to get one.

That doesn’t equate to banning legendaries in WotLK arena.

in an ideal world, theres no pve gear in arena. but w/e

That’d be best but the devs at the time probably just didn’t account for what was considered the best PvP gear from PvE content. Which honestly is fine, I wouldn’t want PvE items built around PvP and conversely I wouldn’t want PvP items built around PvE.

So instead of being forced into engineering, you’re forced into PvEing, finding a guild that will accept giving you Shadowmourne or buying gold to afford it in GDKP.

You’re right, it’s not the same thing, it’s even worse. Shadowmourne will have a much bigger impact than engi belt did, especially considering Season 8 resilience and damage requirement to get through said resilience.

Shadowmourne is just as easy to obtain as Glaives, you don’t need to kill any boss on heroic, you don’t even need to kill the Lich King. The time gate on it just means that Season 8 will be enjoyable until that time gate has been reached, at which point Warriors, DKs and Paladins with Shadowmourne will ruin it for everyone else.

But whatever I guess, people wants a repeat of TBCC, low arena participation and overrepresentation of the same 4 classes.

restrict them imo. ALso this is a topic that will come up as we get to icc which is like a year and some change away.

but then again, even with all these ‘problems’ warmane still has a crazy pop

Nah. Unlike TBC + Classic, where legendaries are pure RNG and not necessarily given to the best PvPers, Wrath legendaries will most likely be in the hands of credit card spec players. And credit card spec players already have enough holding them back in PvP.

No restrictions. Would rather walk away knowing I either got beat by someone who earned the legendary, or dropped someone who had no idea what they were doing, than thinking I’d only won because my opponent was basically wielding a prop weapon.

Removal of rating requirement off the majority of gear, or even honor equivalent gear for players who much prefer BGs to Arena. Keeping the current increase in point gain, and copying it over to 2s & 3s; let PvPers play the brackets they actually enjoy the most. Improve the AFK report system; many games are over before an AFK player can be removed, and they don’t appear to actually have any penalty.
