WOTLK - Honestly, why not Personal Loot?

This is the biggest problem. I really can’t go another expansion with Warriors needing on every Leather drop, and they double dip on plate drops the same run.

Personal Loot is mandatory without RDF to prevent abuse and social conflicts, and Blizzard must add it.

You people are insufferable. Go play the game you want to play and stop trying to casualize classic for a second time.

Idk y blizz never thought to change the itemization up and just restrict armor categories. If a caster can’t wear plate why can a melee class wear cloth? The logic is faulty and inconsistent. Some smarter restrictions would prevent a lot of unfavorable social situations.

100% more retail players plaguing the classic era. I knew it was always to good to be true.

I hate personal loot in retail, it was one of the reasons I stopped playing after a week when I returned from many years with a lapsed sub. Something about it really made it feel like there was zero chance of something dropping. I get the intention behind it, but there are systems in place that can limit “ninja” behaviors. Class restrictions and item uniqueness solve most of it (with some kind of d/e option to avoid the uniqueness problem). There are some cases where a lower-or-same-ilevel item is better for you than what you have, but for pugging, I could see having a per-item role priority and an ilevel check against what you already have (including bags and bank) before allowing you to out-roll another player who also rolled need. This would be kind of a MS>OS, don’t be a jerk type of system that I think most everyone could get behind.

Because loot isn’t an issue, it’s people complaining and making up stories to attempt to convince you that rdf needs to be added for loot from 5mans.

It’s because people can’t socialize enough to make friends and create groups and “omg I spent 5 hrs in lfg and couldn’t find a group for Halls of Stone”

Meanwhile, they never thought of forming their own or socializing to make friends with tanks or healers while leveling or from previous groups or even just joining a guild.

I agree. Blizzard asks for more problems then they need. No RDF but don’t introduce personal loot. Just encouraging toxic behavior.

Personal loot is garbage.

The things you just listed bypass a need for both RDF and the newer gatekeeping tool, and as such can’t be used as an argument for or against either.

It just kills the old school RPG Feel i know and love honestly, there’s something about everyone seeing that one peice of look and fighting over it etc. lol.

If you need RDF because you don’t do those things, you shouldn’t play a mmorpg.

Not everyone plays an MMO just to be your close and special friend, and it’s kinda creepy to want to force that on people.

But again your argument of “get a guild” is also against the manual tool on Beta right now, so you’re an extremist that’s against both sides of the debate and that thinks if anyone doesn’t want to get close to strangers on the internet that they shouldn’t be allowed to play despite wotlk being disability-friendly in the past.

Personal loot doesn’t really work in a game state that doesn’t punish you for using non-appropriate armour/gear (wearing leather as a Shaman for example). It’s more complicated because Enhancement also wears some SP gear.

Why don’t…why don’t we just play retail now? If only all these features were available in retail WoW…

I think your playing the wrong genre if that’s your mindset

I do agree with you in so far as making friends or at least regular-grouping-buddies is a great target to shoot for. But it doesn’t always work out. Folks progress at different rates or have different priorities or play at different times, etc.

I have quite a few folks on my friends list who are all decked out in raid gear and have no interest in 5-mans as well as folks who I levelled up with (to a point) and they still aren’t max level 100+ days later. Some friends like playing alts, some only have one main and that’s it. I guess my point is, even doing what you are suggesting is the one true path of an MMO, still leaves folks standing around spamming for a group.

I mean FF14 has everything this community thinks is a negative to community/social aspect of an MMO and yet they are 10000% more social and community driven than this game. Perhaps the problem is the WoW community themselves and not the features of the game
