I have 100% seen people argue that the raid lockout mechanics should reflect their “in-era” state rather than the final form of it that we got later in the expansion.
This is another removal-category change that is being done to benefit the game as a whole, even though some people may have liked the older system.
RDF literally effects everyone. The changes to ferals/rets only effected those classes/specs, making RDF a substantially bigger issue and can’t be compared to QOL changes on a smaller scale.
Removing RDF is the biggest (and worst) decision/change that Blizzard has made since classic release.
Of changes they’ve made, it is one of the best, assuming #nochanges was not on the table.
I get that this is basically the WoW equivalent of Blizzard ripping off the band-aid. These are things you expect to have and when you don’t have them your first inclination is to riot…but you will be OK.
Rdf didn’t exist for the majority of wotlk. So not having it would be less of a change and more of a design decision, because in wotlk there was a time it did exist, and a time it didn’t. So either way is technically authentic to the origional.
As for “forcing” people to play on private servers, that’s a joke at best they are not forcing you to do anything. You can chose to play wotlkc or not, you can also chose to play on an illegal server, but be prepared to face the consequences of that choice as with wotlkc active, blizzard will likely be shutting such servers down.
But you are advocating that because YOU don’t like or don’t need to visit McDonald’s, that NO ONE else gets to eat there. Even worse, you are saying that if someone doesn’t have enough time to cook a full meal or eat at a sit-down restaurant, they just don’t get to eat at all. If it’s not your way, then they don’t belong eating in the first place.
That’s like, your opinion, albeit a very wrong one.
Given the amount of feral dps and rets out there, or lack thereof, it was a very small issue. The other 2 specs (and feral tanks for that matter) were unaffected by the changes/fix.
Except they are giving us wotlkc. There may be some “changes” you don’t like, heck I don’t like some of them, but it’s still wotlk.
Wotlk had no rdf and had rdf. So with or without it is still wotlk. Same for 4 lock outs for toc, vs 2. Both existed in wotlk life, so either way it is wotlk. It might not be a design choice you like, but it’s still wotlk.
You aren’t bring forced to Pservers you are (possibly) choosing that yourself.
Blizzard made the game and designs the changes they want to see in the game.
Unlike real life, you do not possess complete free will to break any and all reasonable constraints applied to you when playing a game as a player.
In life? Yeah you can go eat McDonalds 7 times a day if that’s your thing.
However, in an online game? If Blizzard thinks you visiting the proverbial McDonalds 7 times a day is hurting their vision for what they want experiencing their game to be like? They are fully within their right to alter that incentive or player behavior by whatever means they see fit in order to achieve that vision.
I can’t just buy a jet pack in Elden Ring to fly over all the obstacles. I’m forced to fight through them. If that jet pack was available, I bet you tons of people would buy it. Does that mean FS is stupid to not have a jetpack purchasable in the game?
It honestly depends how they change that (if they do) for if it would upset me or not. If they put short CD on its use I wouldn’t be overly upset. If they made it in rested zone only, I wouldn’t be overly upset. It depends on how hard of a change they out on it for if it’s an actual “I quit” issue.
So now you’re resorting to appeal to authority to justify your stance on whether dungeon finder should be included or not. The rest of your arguments have been countered to the point that this is all you are left with. OK.
You’re making up scenarios that are not like the RDF situation in WOTLK. Original Wrath had LFD. Elden ring never had jet packs, therefore there’s nothing to ‘want back’ because it never existed.
Original WOTLK had RDF, and we were expecting to get it in its Classic Version, which has been taken away from us. Asking for something we already had is not similar to asking for something which never existed.
You’ve been keeping this thread open just for the sake of arguing and for your own ego. You’ve been given multiple examples of how you’re wrong and come back with some random situation which isn’t related. You’ve lost, your opinion is wrong, move on.
