Not putting dungeon finder in this is a mistake. I wish Blizzard would actually listen to their community or put it to a vote. We want dungeon finder. We dont want raid finder.
Hope y’all are saving your gold or buying more of it to pay mage boosters even more for levelling alts. No dungeon finder means mage boosting and botting is going to get even worse than it is now. If that’s what you people want then I guess you deserve the ruined version of classic you currently have. All of your dead servers will die even more and the 2 mega servers will get even more pro alliance/horde until they have to inevitably merge them for cross realm play and you’ll then scream some more.
if you cut out the PR buzzwords I don’t think they would be saying much of anything, it’s a corporation after all.
That’s not entirely true, people always tend to go the easiest way, specially in a game, even if that collectively ruins the game in the medium/long term.
And i’m saying that even believing that LFD would affect positively this xpac, that i wasn’t a big fan btw, but that i want to play again.
After all, (at some point), LFD was in WotLK.
“spamming” and turning your brain off for something are a good way to make it boring. I’m SUPER happy that they removed the Wrath LFG system.
“We” you do not speak for us.
Not even close.
How can it be considered “classic” if you remove features that were included in the original xpac?
Group finder came like in one of the last patches of WOTLK.
Glad for no LFD/LFR
Loving people talk about “cliques” in wow, those are called guilds.
Blockquote - Maybe I’m missing the point here but, if people have dedicated groups already then why would they need to use a group finding tool.
Because other than a few high pop servers where there are such communities, the player base is scattered on lower pop servers. Elitists won’t allow you to go with them if you aren’t a sweaty. The breakdown in social aspects had very little to do with the Dungeon Finder. It was already happening.
If the majority do this I think it sounds like the majority of people don’t actually like leveling or doing dungeons or playing most of World of Warcraft.
Maybe the game outside of raiding isn’t actually that fun and popular of most people pay to skip it?
Yeah, I think if dungeon finder was announced the forums would be flooded with posts about how bad of a decision it was.
Honestly, and this is coming from a guy who played Everquest back in the day, I think I’d rather have Dungeon Finder these days.
I miss how MMOs used to be more social back in the day. However, back then there wasn’t as much Social Media unless you counted IRC chats, Instant Messengers, and Forums for specific communities. For many people these games were their Social Media outlet, and MMOs were more like interactive chat rooms. These days, you have Facebook, and Twitter, and something new popping up every couple of years to fill that void, so the MMOs became less like interactive chat rooms and now focus more on gameplay. I think Wrath of the Lich King was at that turning point.
While this is a classic era of the game, its coming out during a modern era of computer technology and social connectivity.
So too are gold sellers.
50g a pop adds up.
at current rates $20 can get you 1000. I was bored and googled this recently. I could notify blizzard f my research. But they can google this too. I won’t do their job for them lol. Thats 40 runs. For many…an hour of work irl. vice you know
DPS, bm hunter, looking for group. for several hours.
Something something not social. Social not my issue. Its I am honest. My bm hunter is quest reward gears to level 64, trinkets still communal from boost as I haven’t had a chance to replace them. and…I have never even seen ramparts as is in tbcc.
I have seen it in retail on levelers. You want a DH tank. its made for them with all that leaping. Its really fun to watch that VDH leap and hero pull and you come in to wipe the mobs after.
I don’t ponder for hours why I get no’s.
OP, one of the reasons I quit classic and then BC was because it was impossible to get to do dungeons. I had really wanted to try them all out since I hadn’t played the original versions of the game. However, all my friends left in Classic and didn’t want to play BC and so I was left to try and find groups on my own and as a dps that turned out to be way too much of a job given the amount of time I had to play. So, I gave it up.
Less casual friendly now, I definitely won’t be playing.
I play a healer and still have trouble. Without LFD there is no reason for me to play.
I am honestly tired of seeing the argument that LFD ruined the social interactions of the game. When I played both WotLK and Cata people talked so much in LFD because we were all on the same server half the time you already knew most the people in the dungeon and many people knew who the problem players were. It was when they added cross realm LFD that IMO ruined it because you had no incentive to talk or even try (if you were a problem player) because you very likely would never see any of those people again.
Dungeon finder is a great tool. You can quest while you wait in que. You dodn’t have to spam trade ect to find a group or end up an hour later not being able to find a tank, or healer, or even dps for that matter. Trying to find a group after the initial flare when tbc came out finding a full group becomes close to impossible outside of a dungeon run through by a lvl 70.
While lfg is optimal if you and your group can manage to stay close in levels that is rarely the case. Either you out level them, or they out level you, and kind of a mix. Like I said though after the expansion gets a little bit old looking for group gets harder and harder making dungeon finder a must have.
