WOTLK Classic - Dungeon Finder Removed

BEST comment, PERIOD.

None of you will be overly excited by the announcement of the Classic Token either. No DF tool means low level dungeon boosting remains stable and unimpacted- which is where the Classic Token comes in. Instead of 3rd party sites for gold, it’ll be the Classic Token for gold.

Legitimate players get underhanded again…either cement yourself in major hub LFG or quest…or buy classic token and dungeon boost…

For the removal of LFD we get paid character boosts. Rofl.

WOW classic and original WOTLK are two different games, Wow classic is plagued with boosts that take away the option for dungeon levelling entirely and with dungeon finder also being removed this issue will not be fixed.

People disliked the idea of a dungeon finder in WOTLK because they like the idea of searching LFG chat to find a party grouping up and going together as a party to the dungeon, that’s great i also love doing that but there is NO ONE DOING IT IN TBC CLASSIC and there will be even fewer people doing it in WOTLK every single player will either buy gold for a boost or pay for a boost to 70, either way, they aren’t playing the game to level up i want to play to level up and doing quests alone isn’t fun i’d like to have the option to do a dungeon with a group of equal levelled players but that will no longer happen since dungeon finder will be removed. People who pay for boosts don’t even need to equip any gear or play at all they just sit their credit card in hand waiting to enter a GDKP and buy war glavies, the fact that they have decided to remove dungeon finder makes it obvious blizzard employees do not play the game at all. just because dungeon finder was bad then doesn’t make it bad now it’s a different game

Historical gripes are not the same as current ones. Makes sense to not bring this in straight away, but to not have it at all because we want to spam LFG channel and build zero connection with the people we’re bringing in, is largely wrong.

Thank you for seeing it this way. That’s why I had to edit my OP. If they said it would come later down the road, that would be okay. It’s the point that it seems like it was implied that it won’t be added at all that just doesn’t sit right with a lot of people.

Yep! Someone understands the leveling meta! Instead of 3rd party gold, it’ll be a classic token for the gold to go out there and dungeon boost.

DF tool would have negatively impacted lvl boosting as players would have been questing, at all levels, while passively finding a group. No DF tool means lvl boosting continues as the mainstream “path of least resistance” option; and Blizzard will be sure to accommodate that path with Classic Tokens.

Wrath was at its peak for adding the convenience and especially the open PuG raiding flexibility for friends and family. Removing LFD from Classic is dumb.

When I look at the folks I know who still play Classic, and why they do, I realize LFG would ruin them. They’re not good at the game by any means. They get dragged along into content out of the sheer kindness of other players.

LFG would introduce a whole new level of toxicity they’re not ready to face. They’d very likely quit the game. My guess is that’s Blizzard’s reasoning. Especially considering one or two of the folks I know want to spend money on Wrath shop stuff.

I’d still love to play, but the reality will be since I’m not on a high pop realm, it will be difficult to get groups past the first month or so. That nullifies my initial excitement and makes me consider not playing at all to save myself that disappointment and frustration.

Yeah honestly this has turned me away from Wrath classic as well. I was really looking forward to it as it was my favorite expansion. However, without LFD it’s just going to be a continuation of TBC Classic where I’m sitting in LFG chat for an hour + looking for tank/heals. I don’t know how they can claim that the LFD tool takes away the social aspect. I don’t think me spamming chat looking for people is what I’d call being ‘social’. Once we’re in the dungeon nobody talks to each other unless it’s to be a toxic elitist. As it is I haven’t touched my level 70s in TBC Classic for weeks because finding groups feels like a tedious chore.

Yep. I still remember logging in the day Dungeon Finder went live. Pretty sure I have the Feat of Strength for it, or whatever it’s listed under.

It was actually a lot of fun, especially with the class balances in 3.3.5, Dungeon Finder felt really great…

I mean, Heroic Oculus is never fun, but that’s not the point.

Again this all makes sense when you realize that some Chud in a CE guild was talking to the Dev team and said how bad LFD was for the game. Then poof no LFD, only to be added in 10.01.05

Looking at most replies, seems like the majority wants the dungeon finder, myself included. Making groups, especially on smaller server is a painful experience that very few people want.

Hunter LF a PuG, please!

I’m not. As much as I enjoy retail, I play classic for a specific experience and the lack of LFD is one of those parts of the experience. If you’re too socially inept to put together or join your own group, you should find a guild to run you through.

I actually clapped upon hearing this.

I’m not upset by it in the least. I saw it as a convenience type of thing, but not having this is what helps separate this game play from Retail (in my head). I know this isn’t the case for everyone though

It’s like blizz read one post that someone was like ‘NO LFGGGGG hgiufdhsifd’.

And then made it law that everyone didn’t want it.

This was the biggest let down IMO, when they said no LFD.

Well, I was pretty hyped about Wrath Classic until I saw this. No Looking for Dungeon? It’s what made playing bearable at some point. I remember sitting in town trying to make groups for dungeons and it was a pain in the butt. Yeah, some folks hated the Oculus, but everything was fine via LFD. I hope they add it back in, because I really don’t want to mess around with the old way of doing things.
