I was there in 2008, they ended it early over complaints
People couldn’t level, people couldn’t use the ah, it sucked

Even at 30 mins, this event is a bust. You’d be waiting 25 mins between events, since it’s literally 5 mins start to finish.
This event needed to be scrapped and totally redesigned. The bosses need to respawn every 2-5 mins. The event should be up in all 3 zones at the same time, to spread out the server load and prevent 8 second lag and DCs.
It’s bad on every level. More than that, it’s boring. I shouldn’t need another game to play while I wait to play your freakin’ game 3 out of every 90 minutes.
It was awesome. A scourge invasion should have felt like that. I’d settle for a good decent questline these days but they can’t even do that. The harbinger questline was over before it started and this event is more of the same.
Yet it was incredibly alt friendly, not grindy, spectacular for leveling alts and, at the time, unique. In addition to that, we had the pre-patch scenario and questline + rares in major cities + turning into demons to kill people in Stormwind/Orgrimmar.
So yes, it was a great event.
This is only the second pre-patch expansion event I’ve experienced. The other one was dragonflight. And that one was a lot of fun, but I felt it was way too fast. I had my character geared up in like an hour.
But what it took me an hour to do last time will take me a month to do this time. It’s crazy the extremes that the pendulum swings here.
It’s pretty horrible. If you miss the first 15 mins, you’re SoL and have to wait another 1.25 hours before you can try again. With limited playtime, means I have to hope I can login at exactly XX:XX or else.
What a waste of time.
I did one event, got two pieces of gear. One is Warbound until equipped and one is soulbound, so vender trash. Not sure i understand the point of having only some items Warbound until equipped when I thought that was one of the main selling points of Warbands and this event.
They have so much feedback from the Diablo 4 and Hearthstone events that I can’t believe they have implemented another event just like them while ignoring that feedback. They will nerf/change the event, but they should have just did right from the start. I would say I’m shocked but this is Blizzard we’re talking about. They purposely take an L at almost every twist and turn.
No event should degrade standard gameplay, only enhance
This is the kind of grind you have for something that will last a long time. But this gear will be immediately replaced by greens on launch day.
C’mon Blizz.
We have different opinions and that is okay. The event is memorable and still talked about and to me that is a W.
Honestly my biggest disappointment is that the gear can’t even be used in the revival catalyst, so any character with even a modicum of gear doesn’t want any of this crap.
All my alts have S3 tier set… so this gear is almost entirely useless. I’d get better results queueing LFR on them.
This event blows.
They seem to lean too heavy handed in sit around and wait content. I was hoping this stuff would be scrapped in War Within. I honestly only see this type of content as boring, no matter how fun the 5min is, it’s not worth the long wait.
I just want the 3 pets and the mount and it seems hopeless, especially since I’m going to miss 6 days of the event due to being on vacation.
I mean… that’s really not that big of a deal, specially with all raids fated if you really wanted to do season 4 before tww
It is a big deal. Catch-up gear is the entire point of this event, and if you can’t make it into tier, then 5 of these slots of gear are 100% useless.
To top it all off, the warbound gear is entirely random, so you can’t even gear the class you’re currently playing in a reliable manner. The time gating makes it worse, and the gear not being compatible with the catalyst is the cherry on top of this half baked cake.
? You don’t need tier to go into tww
Around gear will also be entirely random in tww, so I guess be prepared for that
Absolutely. Who’s idiotic idea was to make the rewards so expensive?
