Yeah, the boss also starts with an immune shield so you have a minute to get there if you’re in another part of the zone. That said, the boss does die very quickly depending on how many people are there.
I got a nice chest piece and two items I can’t use, why?
For me it’s not a good one.
I’m getting annoyed at the bugs that make it to live.
This event in particular seems way too grindy. Not alt friendly. Don’t like the timer on the event. It’s a good 5 minutes of smashing the event then the main boss dies and you have to wait another hour and 25 minutes to go again. The takeaway from each event you participate in, by itself, is weak.
I was ready for something more engaging and rewarding. This ain’t it.
Talked about but never able to do again, it’s a waste because it’s limited
Good memories are never a waste. If people remember it and still talk about it, then it was a success. Every prepatch event should strive to do the same. Zerging a rare/npc with hundreds of people waiting for an hour isn’t memorable. Its boring as hell. Talking about Blizzard dev time as if its precious. They have more than enough devs to do memorable things but they choose not to and players let them off the hook.
It’s overall as good or better than many events. The biggest problem is if you aren’t there ahead of time, you get to wait another 90 mins. They need to either make it take longer with more rewards or they need to seriously drop the time gap. 30 mins would be great. 60 mins would slightly decrease the aggravation.
The Wrath prelaunch thing was pretty awful.
I couldn’t care less about the gear since it will all be replaced in less then an hour after the expansion launches and cosmetics are fun but not a driving point for me. I just wish they’d have done something for alt leveling with the event for the people who didnt do mists remix and have OP XP bonus cloaks that let you level 1-70 in an hour.
Yeah, I was looking forward to gearing up all the alts I worked on getting to 70 recently for the start of the expansion. Big effin’ lol that turned out to be.
Best “solution” to the pre-patch: take everything and cycle items through the Trading Post for the duration of TWW.
After experiencing it once now, and the sheer amount of lag, plus 90 minute wait time, I’ve already decided to not even bother with it anymore. Add to those the cost of the items on the vendor and how slow the currency is earned, yeah, I’ll pass until later if ever, making harder for me to justify staying subscribed until the expansion.
I mean, the wrath prepare event is mostly remembered for being cut early because people couldn’t level or even be in town, I wouldn’t call those good memories
Just do mop remix at this point
I had a blast. All my IRL friends who played had fun. There was 6 of us who played back then. Over the years through being in various and numerous guilds spread over different versions of WoW, it is widely regarded as the best prepatch event by a lot of people I’ve talked to. I can barely remember the Shadowlands and DF prepatch events. I don’t even think I’ll participate in this TWW event.
At some point Blizzard stopped treating WoW like a world with making it immersive, or giving a good questline experience like the BfA prepatch that respected players time and the world. It is a hollow zerging experience around every corner now. Look at all the holiday zerg events like the D4 stuff. Or the Hearthstone one. How do people find this fun or memorable? It is just more of the same.
The legion prepatch was just a Zerg and people often regard that as the best ever
I mean it is relative to which ones you played. The answer isn’t the same for everyone but for people in my WoW generation it is usually always the Wrath prepatch. I don’t speak for everyone but based off my experiences and talking to so many people over the years, this stands.
Bottom line, the WoW dev team can do better than what they’ve done the last 3 prepatches. Every single event in WoW is starting to feel like the same cookie cutter zerg event and it is boring. Questlines take like 5-10 minutes and then it is into the zerg. It isn’t fun, it isn’t memorable.
I hated the wrath pre patch for the most part, all it was was annoying, just like when they redid it for classic lol. Try to do anything, get turned into a zombie
that stuff still happens. it just doesnt happen as often or as long because people have friends/guilds that they have been playing with for years so they stick to that
It was fun back in 2008. Groups of people on Horde turning into zombies in Shattrath and then making us able to take the Stormwind portal there. Running around infecting everyone. My group of friends loved it, and many others did too.
Yeah, I just logged out and figured I’ll skip this content.
There are wayyyy too many sit around and wait events anymore. I guess it’s supposed to seem more epic to have others fighting along side yourself, but really it ends up being super boring content.
