Worst pre-expansion event ever?

What’s sad is I know what you are talking about, and it happened I believe twice in history. Napoleon did it, the Hitler did it, not learning from Napoleon and his total screw up.

I don’t frequent the forums here, usually a waste of time and filled with toxic people but in this instance ill make an exception this by far was the worst 30 minutes of my life I would rather forget ever happened. If this is how pre-patch is im extremely concerned about the expansion having not spent any time in beta to avoid spoilers.

Yes, TWW pre-expansion is just awful

Wish they’d bring back the dev team that gave us the Legion pre-expansion! that was absolutely epic and all my characters benefited from it while having a blast!

From your description I don’t even remember it.

Dude all the gear is so useless. IT WILL BE REPLACED.

it also lists every spec in the game when you go to buy it

wait, the gear is SOULBOUND? So even with the new warband feature you can’t even send to alts?

Yes, this pre expac is lame. lame grind, even lamer than free 2 play grind games.

I have to agree here. I logged on later (work and such) and saw once I completed the small questline (if you could call it that) that I had to wait an hour for the next event to happen. I thought cool no prob I’ll just do the other stuff until then… Until I found out that the other stuff is just grinding mobs. At that point I just… logged off. I’m not going to sit there grinding endlessly for super small amounts of memories per mob.

I’d also like to point out that logging in excited to play the pre-patch event and then getting hit with a timer that says I need to wait feels very bad. Blizzard really do feel like they’re micro managing everyone’s play time, trying to squeeze every last ounce of time out of each player.

Aw the good ole days of true community.

It blows my mind that they’re staggering the zone time switches. Why in the nine hells would they make that decision.

In three weeks it’ll be 30 minutes per switch, now it’s 90 and next week it’s 60. Why why why.

So, we got Siege of Dragonbane Keep V0.5, because we now have to tag the boss and probably won’t find a shard where it’s not already defeated within the first 5 minutes? Ouch…

It has been 12 years, so I do not remember every singular detail, but I do remember a LOT of hype behind Battle for Theramore and then the in game of it being just…utterly terrible.

I think many, many people missed this event happening and sort of explains the disconnect people have with the Horde/Alliance conflict at the start of MoP;

Later in MoP, there is a much, much better Scenario for Battle of Theramore. I think a lot of people ended up viewing the mana bombing as an accessory to the Horde/Alliance conflicts in Pandaria, and not a precursor event.

Here is the original cinematic:

radiant echoes stuck at 98% ?

The gear out of the chest is soulbound ilevel 493. I’ve gotten a couple of warbound 480 pieces from the end bosses on various alts.

It isn’t a waste though. The Wrath prepatch event was memorable and still talked about to this day by those who played during it. I can’t remember many other prepatch events tbh.

Personally, I’d be fine if they adjust it so each zone restarts every 30 min if the boss has been killed and if the boss had a slightly longer invulnerable timer. Did one event and by the time I realized where the boss was, he was below 30% health already.

As it is right now, it does feel bad if you miss the timer AND have to wait 80 minutes for the next one.

It’s almost like they forgot everything they learned from every other pre patch event. Was this the group that got let go? How do they not retain the lessons from 10 expansions?

Of the “modern era”

Maybe. SL’s was pretty bad.

Of all time.

Lol nah.

Cata’s event was so bad that people just ignored it.
