not in the West - so not players you can meet in-game.
you actually can they added data center travel so you can go to japan servers
FF14 HAS NOTHING on World of Warcraft and nice try on saying there graphics looks better oh please dragon isles / Dragonflight will blow that game out of the water just you wait. But oh wait ever since warlords the graphics have been better than say FF14.
Just looking over steam charts, it seen a blow up in 2019 prior to shadowlands. Which, wouldâve been from Shadowbringers. They just steadily see growth with every expansion.
Shadowlands did exacerbate Endwalkers release. Then Asmon, Annie, Preach, Bellular and a few other large content creators from WoW that tried it out normalized it as a game around the WoW community.
You find that with any game that hangs around long enough to have obsessive fans. People have a weird habit of turning their lifestyle game into a full on lifestyle.
FF14 is a really good game, but it has flaws also.
One thing you got right though. Dragonflight is the last chance Blizzard has. If they donât give good content for non group players, and make it feel like it is worth investing into. FF14 will not kill them, but Square will learn from the mistakes, and design a better mmo from it.
Blizzard should have learned. This game canât live just off raiders and mythic+ players.
The failures of wow. Square learn and adapted.
oh I know, I hang around DBD community and a lot of those Content Creators feel like theyâre taken hostage by community. DBD twitch viewers will actually mass unfollow their streamers for even thinking about playing another game.
Yes, some people just struggle to admit it.
I mean we donât got the numbers, but the fact they came out with some new servers and they got full quickly, and people still saying queues happen. Final Fantasy is doing very well.
That makes me happy also, because if WOW does fail, I got a better game waiting.
FFXIV will never be the WOW killer. I see it like this, FFXIV and WOW are like two different people.
FFXIV is a game where roleplayers and casuals gather they can always go to another game or roleplay as some bunny girl whatever.
WOW is the game where all the big kids play, if you want to do ESPORTS or become a competitive, but also the game where you can do a lot of other things.;
Been there
Done that
Got bored
Came back
Same thing was said when SB was released. It was a great game, I played it. Raids were cool, but it got stale fast.
Final Fantasy does not have to kill wow.
Blizzard has been doing that to themselves.
I mean, yes and no, WOW has been a killer for casuals but also somewhat of a murderer for people that do esports and such. Like things arenât perfect but they arenât great either. Iâm just saying FFXIV will never kill WOW.
FF14 has 28 NA servers (including the 4 new ones). WoW has 240 NA/Oceanic servers. It is sort of hard to compare.
One thing is blatantly obvious: you have absolutely no clue who is playing wow. Granted, there are tons of outliers, but the majority of wow players play the game because of the endgame. This is just my opinion, but I believe the majority are semi hardcore players. They raid, maybe screw around in some bgs, and run keys with their guildies and friends.
This type of player wants absolutely nothing to do with fetch quest fantasy. Not everybody plays video games to RP and read stories. Some actually want to compete and challenge themselves. Some even want to sweat.
iâm still salty ff14 killed ffrk. That game had a ton of potential and they just freaking killed it. tyro best ff protagonist.
In my opinion, both games have their merits.
FF14 respects your time more by not putting obnoxious grinds and time-gating in the game. They also have a deterministic gearing system, allows you to queue for anything, and doesnât design their group content to last more than an hour or so. Itâs very friendly to dad gamers. You can also play past expansions raids and even minimum ilvl sync to them to keep them challenging.
WOW has very beautiful artistically creative dungeons and zones. Their combat is fun, and you can customize your class/spec. But the community gets in the way of enjoying the game, the developers donât design the game to respect your time, and they nullify all effort put into your character through stat squishes, level squishes, and by turning off set bonuses, borrowed power systems, and gear resets each patch and expansions.
Iâm just going to straight say it⌠I have a really old FFXIV account and if they update the graphics and DF locks me out of gearing⌠I will certainly bounce to FF and check it out.
I actively want a game to come out or rise above WoW because I really donât care for the design focus on Elite content to an exclusion of all else.
I donât want WoW to fail I just donât have faith they will make content for me and Iâm tired of working around it.
ya, but they never had the issues they had before with how many players they had until Blizzard drop the ball one time too many.
Blizzard failures has been massive profits for Square. Not only that, but every single expansion they look at the things Blizzard got wrong, for example how players unlock flying, and even a better trade skill system.
No way would they have the server issues and amount of players they have now, if it was not for how badly Blizzard has been.
You mean the people that are watching someone play the game than actually playing it themselves? Canât be that engaging.
