Come to Classic Era, I promise you whitemane is bursting with players now do to hardcore. All we can do is keep our fingers crossed for classic+
No thanks, did all that while it was current.
I wasn’t talking to you
I play on Grobbulus and I love seeing the open world bustling with players, but I know when RDF inevitably comes out that the big full world of players I’m used to, at least on my server, will come to an end, becuase when given the choice people will allays take the path of least resistance and weather they like it or not, questing will become obsolete. You can call it my personal opinion but RDF turns the game into a lobby experience where most players will just sit in a city and que for games, instead of being out and about in this great world of warcraft we all play in.
People got sick of grinding alts the hard way so they just don’t bother.
You have to push to like 51 and then just spam AV till cap, it’s not very glorious, you generally do nothing the entire time but it’s still better than questing or trying to form a group for any dungeon that’s not a Northrend one.
Almost as if being forced to basically sit in the corner alone for a few days until you’re finally allowed to play the game is a stupid idea.
I think they should make a classic + feature that allows you to teleport to a random group of other players on your faction who are on a world quest. Keeping the world full and fulfilling the needs of lonely levelers.
In my opinion the classic experience dies with the end of world exploration.
What they just need to do is make it so mobs scale, level-wise, to your level. But the ‘power level’ tappers off on mobs.
ESO does this. And you’ll find even the ‘starter zones’ have a dozen or so high-level (referencing the Alternate Leveling system here) running around farming or running open-world dungeons.
It’s like players, here, don’t get that the more expansions WoW gets, the less there is to do. – Who’s raiding MC these days? AQ? Naxx “2.0”??? ‘No one’ (I’m sure there’s maybe a handful). Nope. Everyone’s running ToGC and Ulduar Skips…folks aren’t even doing ‘World Tours’ for the Beta Protocols anymore. It’s just the daily heroic and done.
Because that’s all the content, at least that matters, there is to do.
I miss TBC and would love to have an option for it…
Desocilization as in you dont have to take a long flight path to get into a dungeon? Lol. Ok.
Wait, now i just join this que and i get in a group of other players that i can socialize with? But but, what about the awesome socialzing i could do by typing LFM for heroic ++daily in trade chat?. Oh no, there goes the game.
I do to. I always wanted to replay tbc. Only better. With game features that had proven to make the game 100 times better. Tbc redone with RDF and dual spec would be heaven.
You know I never claimed that the lack of social activity was due to RDF. Just that desocialization exists within the game, and that I’m concerned about it. I’m hoping to raise awareness and spark ideas for classic +. However I do think that if RDF is the premier way to level up it will feel just like leveling in retail, with an empty world. I believe the solution lies within the world it’s self somewhere, not isolated in dungeons. But that again is just my opinion.
I’m confused why this post is coming halfway through WoTLK and not halfway through tbc. Wrath is already basically all the things you just said you’re concerned about.
Good to know we still get some talents until MoP, but it sounds like they are restrictive. It would make me sad to see WoW repeat the miss takes of it’s past. I think when they re-added talents to retail it was a massive W, and step in the right direction.
Nope, that was added in WotLK, not Cataclysm. Its why they added emblems to quests, they wanted to encourage everyone to complete those quests to be in the same phase.
SoM two is coming my friend
we go AGANE
I just came back to the game recently after being out for some time due to issues IRL, but I am just happy to be here with my friends again, and see where the game is heading. I guess it is a late hour to post something about this, but you never know. Everyone’s voice has the potential to be heard.
You can say whatever you want. This desocialization is nothing more than a myth. Its one of many things that players come up with to complain about and then the followers jump on board. They never give examples though. It was hilarious to see all of the negative comments about rdf though amd every single one of them were exaxtly how the current situation was without rdf. Yet they still kept the myth going.
I have played wow since the beginning. I dont play retail anymore. I played up to just before shadowlands. And the one thing i can call bs on, is the desocialization. It was never any more or less social than it always has been. My best guess is ppls friends stopped playing and that is the reason they percieve it being less social but instead of facing that they blame the game.
I gotta say, that leveling is wastly…WASTLY!! superior in cataclysm. In kalimdor and eastern kingdoms classic questing is an nightmare to do.
For example gettig questst in dakrshire, sending you to the other corner of the map and next q is to go back to town, multiple times back and forward is a prime example…
Needing an one q item with these abyssmal loot chances often results in murdering entire zone of mobs 2-3 times, while competing with other players for tags
horrible never ending escort quests where you have to escort an npc trough long cave full of mobs and then trough a entire redridge mountain zone, just for that npc- you and your entire group to get murdered by horde overleveled griefing rogue waiting for you 10 yards from Lakeshire.
Getting low lvl quests that have turn ins in another continent…like from gadgetzan to hinterlands …etc
Respawn timers on “lieutenant” quest npc…
Etc etc …i dont understand why people like this.
Its amusing when you meet someone that defends this leveling fiesta …its usualy someone decked in heirlooms that respawn kills crabs in westfall with max level friend…or mages aoe farming taking a hostage multiple zones where you need mobs for quests…its usualy ppl that dont even quest to begin with.
I prefer post cata rewamp…and it isnt even close…cant wait for cata classic to come out.
Imho ofc.
To not be a complete d about it, i have to say that couple stuff feels amazing in wrath classic compared to retail leveling. But these were in cata aswell…
First of all…the never heard of concept…you are getting stronger with each level up…i know how idiotic it sounds…but go try retail where it feels like you are leveling backward.
Talent trees.
Warrior class. That works completely different, and way better i must say, from retail.
No scaling whatsoever…the mobs doesnt get any harder as you level up.
Theres propably more…but im not done yet.
One example of de-socialization in retail is people rarely ever talk in RDF. I’ve talked to multiple people who have played both sides of the game and everyone I talk to all say no one communicates while leveling up in retail, but the opposite is true in classic. But that’s just my experience, not propagating any myths. Just stating opinions and facts based on my personal experience.
