Worried about the future of Classic

It allows you to easily bypass the world quests in favor of leveling in RDF exclusively. I think they worried that wise players would use that method for leveling and you’d have players on here crying about why no one is around when doing quests… Gives a empty feeling to an otherwise popular game…

I think blizzard has finally realized that people want to play the game the way they want to play it and not the way blizzard wants them to play it.

The world has been empty for a while now. People got sick of grinding alts the hard way so they just don’t bother. At least with RDF you can get the dungeon quests done and solo quest the rest of it

OR, you can spam dungeons and that helps keep the queue times short.

Once I’ve leveled through on a main and did all the quests, why would I want to do all that grinding again if I don’t have to? :man_shrugging:

Please. They abandoned that notion in TBC Classic when they let players buy boosts. So much for populating the world at that point. Any decision they make comes down to $$$. If they can monetize something, they will. Their Pillars were a convenient untruth.

Perhaps, but in the end we did get RDF. I’ll be enjoying it now? It comes at a good time too.

i agree, but i bet they couldn’t find a way to unlink the ToC and ICC dungeons and take them off of RDF so they had to make up some excuse saying “it is not coming to wrath” only to turn around and announce it coming in phase 4 once all the extra dungeons are back in.

If that’s the case then why the deception? I would’ve been far more understanding if I knew it was just a technical problem versus a conscious decision they made.

Cata Classic is not a certian yet, they could just relroll back to vanilla which personally I hope they do,

I don’t want to see cataclysm released for WoTLK Classic. for me its the destruction of the original maps and questing area`s I would rather not see destroyed and changed dramatically. To me that is the reason for the classic server. I never liked having to travel different timelines, and having a hard time connecting to friends that play or mailing materials from one toon to another. as far as communication and socialism, that is on the players individually. I hope this is read by those it may concern. btw, I do play retail every once in a while, but only a single character with my brother to simplify the confusion of timelines and such. I vote no cataclysm in classic.

You should be, Blizz will barrel onward to crapaclysm.

maybe, but if they do, they will lose a huge player base. many players “asked” for classic for a reason. mostly all the same reasons that I listed. and that is more players than you may anticipate. Blizzard wouldn’t want to cut one quarter of the player base let alone almost half. you follow?

Feel for the OP.

As long as they keep classic era, i’m happy. It was my favorite time period for WoW.

whats ICC?? i get rdf…but ICC???

The original Azeroth will continue to exist in Classic Era.

They get changed tremendously in Cata though and Cata wrecks the spell and ability system as well as ruining the old world zones and they also added in phasing. Phasing is different from layering. It is simply to where if you are not on the same part of the quest chain as your friend, then you are in a different phase and cannot see them. Larring was added in Shadowlands. But the dev team has added it now to Classic WoW so if we have both phasing AND layering, you really will not see anyone, ever in any form of questing.

And they also added the RBG system. They should have just added back the old ranking system. Now with SOM2 coming out and fresh Classic servers you can never derank in BGs below your current rank.

They also change the PvP bracket system in Cata and ruin the glyph system. Now they have WoW tokens in the game.

Ice Crown Citadel

I would actually argue that the LFD tool we have now became of major tool for exclusion not inclusion. I bet when rdf drops that player retention will sky rocket bc everyone will actually be able to do dungeons.

Speaking of the current LFD tool, something I’m surprised no one is talking about is how we’re getting what is essentially the retail LFD tool alongside RDF. I’m very curious if the anti-retail crowd is okay with an objectively better tool than what we have now that comes from retail…
