you must be joking. Wow supports potatoes that would not run any AA game in the past 3 to 4 years.
Xbox x’s only recent hiccup was Cyber punk. which ran like butt on all but the most pimp of gaming pc’s.
a ding to xbox graphics is game trying to push 4k. Consoles work some voodo magic that yes can cause artifact issues. Or has consesions.
Wow does not even have 4k. People sometimes rant omfg…another 20gb patch? Wth man!!!
Fallout or skyrim I can put in 4k mods at 20gb. and get some of nicest clutter you will even see. It makes a can of beans look good. And stimpacs…
Wow…hasn’t even retex’d over 50% of their content to be 2k. WHy when asked why must I have invincible as its an old low rez mount I go yeah I know. Its low rez, no where near the new good stuff. hasn’t been fixed since like ever.
BUt I still want it.

Button are not the problem. before the consoleport addon was made I used Joy to Key and…
- bound 36 spells
- escape menu
- key for switching between walking and running
- inventory
- mount and dismount
- character menu
- map
- movement
- a key for switching over to mouse
- left click and right click
- tab (for tab targeting)
- spacebar (because I jump around sometimes when traveling)
- R key for autorun (personal preference)
- sheath and un-sheath
all of this and still had 11 more free keybinds I didn’t have a need for.
I want a 2D side scrolling Warcraft that plays like Mario.
They threw witcher on the switch. After that anything is possible.
The biggest hurdle for devs won’t be porting the game, or addons or any of that nonsense. Environment for that already exists. If anything will give them trouble it’s how they’ll go about adding typing and communication to the game. I’ve read some iffy things about ESO in that regard (though someone who played console should chime in).
I knew a demon hunter would reply. now how about a class that has real spells?

It may happens on Xbox but wit will require keyboard and mouse
I use these for WoW

I also have an xbox controller for other games . Now alone the xbox controller has only 14 buttons but you add in button combos and it has more then my gaming keypad and mouse combined .

Don’t forget button combos like any of the 4 triggers together or combinations of any of the triggers with all the other buttons .
People only look at what they can see and not beyond to what they can actually do .

Nah. FF14 has just as many buttons with some jobs probably having even more as the average WoW class and works just fine on controller. Better in some cases
WoW would work just fine as a console port, but it wouldn’t feel as smooth and comfortable to play like it does on the PC.
I’ve played FF14 with both a controller and mouse&kb, and it feels clunky using so many modifiers for abilities. It would be the same with WoW and a controller, in that you’re forced to LB + A/B/X/Y for simple attacks.
Also, the WoW community would blacklist controller players from group which creates a whole new mess for Blizzard.
I also didn’t throw in Radio UI,lol.
Bring up wheel and select something. Games put that in there too. usually off the thumbstick press or d pad press.

Havoc dh talent build 1311111, can already be played on only a 12-button mouse. I type from experience.

Problem as I see it, they start to wreck the game to facilitate console players.
Too many buttons! Re-prune all the things! Harder this time! GCD on everything! More jumping puzzles! We gotta get this square peg of a game into that round hole of a console market!
And this isn’t entirely on Microsoft - Blizzard has always been quick to huck the bird in their hand (existing players) into the bush to flush out what they think might be more birds in the bush (hypothetical new players).
If expanding into new markets means damaging the game for the existing one, I don’t want to see it happen.
I would much rather they port WoW to console than for them to, let say, develop WoW 2 (in 20 years or so) for console and port to PC. Ported games to PC are nearly always horrible.

Yeah, if they develop for both pc and console at the same time; pc always loses out.
Why do people keep bringing up FFXIV when it comes to WoW console chat? FFXIV was developed as CONSOLE FIRST to begin with. WoW was NEVER built with console in mind at all. It is a lot more than just “buttons”.

They tried pruning us in wod and legion and look how that turned out. End game content for wow is so far beyond capable of playing all classes on a controller. Controller players of all classes as a whole would have to significantly out gear content to access it.
Of course there’s a few specs right now that can work on a controller but not all classes/specs.
The only way it’d be possible for wow on xbox is if they can plug up their keyboard and mouse.

It really is just buttons.
It really isn’t. Might want to learn more on what it takes to port a mmo not built for console to be on console.
it’d be totally fine but they aren’t likely to mix controller/console players with mouse players because of the discrepancies in performance.
FF14 has as many abilities as wow and has already demonstrated it works fine.
fyi FF14 has a ton more players than wow right now - like between double and triple the playerbase of wow
FF14 is the #1 MMO in the world, and yes it allows players to use controllers and yes it has just as many abilities/buttons as wow
