riiiiiight, there it is
Itâs still guesswork, granted I believe its around the 60% ish but either way itâs sizeable chunk
Yes maybe correct, which would imply itâs somewhat less. So weâll say a 60-70% drop, at least.
It has to be estimated, Blizzard stopping releasing numbers (around WoD, I think), because they were embarrassed by the drops. Estimating things is nothing new, and superior to doing nothing.
I donât see how making the game darker is going to reverse the downward trend.
Because the current storytelling is lame. And people donât want to be associated with lame things. They want to be associated with cool things. Happy to help with these basic facts about human nature.
This is fantasy. There is enough BS around in IRL. Iâm fine with their current direction.
And therefore not a fact or provable in anyway.
Yeah but not for the reason youâre thinking, they had the abosulte biggest purge of botted/stolen accounts in WoD in the leadup to the token, was like 1/3 or 1/4 of the subs.
The shareholders didnât like knowing that that many subs were artificial and volatile.
Dark doesnât equate to cool, though. The storytelling being lighter isnât what makes it lame. What makes it lame is a writing team that isnât that good. A darker story would still be lame under the current writers.
You can always turn down your monitorâs brightness.
That would make it harder to see the forums too. So itâs a win for everyone.
âDarkerâ doesnât mean faction war necessarily. The rest of Legion was pretty âdarkâ and had nothing to do with a faction war. It was great.
Yeah. I think we should all know that by now with SL.
I agree, but in a game called WARCRAFT it should probably be a bit dark or gritty, as it always was. Because thatâs what the core audience likes, not power rangers-style cinematics.
WoW always had super CHEESY and goofy moments. The problem is the current team of writers doesnât know how to do that well, either. So itâs just lame all around.
Yes but these were easter eggs or comic relief in a generally gritty setting. Now they are the main theme.
WoW has always been both. You guys are too easily influenced by streamers.
Wonât disagree there. But if the current team canât even get that right, thereâs pretty much no hope they can get the more serious moments right, either. Hoping they replaced some of the writers when Metzen came back.
Well, it was never any good from the start
Remember the mechanical chicken in the desert?
The feral teddy bears?
Gnomes?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
