It’s not just spriests, they literally don’t know how to design DoT specs, in general, to be more fun at all. Like what is this nonsense.

I’m not as big on the PI removal but I am for this one. Dislike Searing Nightmare as a skill a lot. Would rather the functionality just be put into Mind Sear and maybe spread VP to use apparitions better.

Agreed. I guess the biggest difference between Priest and other classes is that most classes have a shared pool of stuff. All Druids have Barkskin in some form. All Death Knights have Icebound Fortitude.

With Priest, they kind of made Shadow Priest a completely different class within the class, that only shares some very superficial elements like Shadow Mend or Psychic Scream. Shadow Priest has its own separate utility, its own separate defensives, so on and so forth.

Blizzard needs to rework SP defensives/utilties to better mesh with the rest of Priest kit and then put them back into the left tree.

I don’t wanna be mean to the shadow priest devs but they’re spitting in the players face with these talent trees. They put PI there as if people were dying to have it back, no! People don’t want it, just put haste into void form and remove the cooldown. Just because druids liked that broken thing called convoke, does not mean priests want back the lazy design of covenant and legendaries for priests in SL. Shadow priest got a broken rework and then neglect for the rest of the expac to make sure no one has fun with it for 2 years. Now they’re doubling down on this dog spec as if it was a big success.

I didn’t realize I needed to main a class to enjoy a spell.

I started playing in Wrath and Lightwell has a special place in my heart because that’s part of the Priest fantasy I started this game with. Seeing it come back makes me happy.

Ok, it has no place in current WoW and we’ve been through probably 5 iterations of it. It is a failed talent. You having rose tinted glasses isn’t going to make it suddenly good.

It also coming back isn’t apparently going to get you to main H Priest either so…

Please, keep flash conc in SL (imo). The entire spec revolving around this leggo for basically the entire expansion has been such a bore. If there’s some way to proc flash conc. for 1-2 heal casts? Ok, cool. But this entire play style of flash heal 5x before a fight starts and just spam heal is so mind-numbing for me.

From what I’ve briefly read on the holy talents, it seems like they’re trying to add some variety of to the play style., with even more emphasis on the holy words. Bringing Binding Heal back to heal 3 targets total and reduce the CD of Serenity and Sanctify. Circle of Healing and prayer of mending reducing the CD of Sanctify and Serenity respectively. If they could find a way to make prayer of healing viable, we could find ourselves with a lot of different heals for different situations. Infinitely better than heal, heal, heal, serenity, heal, heal, heal, serenity.

All classes have at least one.
Just certain specs don’t get access currently.
Priest only get an interrupt as Shadow.

I’ve had an issue with interrupts not being available to all classes since forever. I hate healing on a Priest or running Voidwalker when solo on a lock but losing out on any kind of interrupt.
It really became a big issue for me as a player in MoP when some rares had to be interrupted or they would cast a full heal.
Nowadays lots of random enemies have annoying or dangerous spells they cast and stunning or fearing them usually just delays the cast and they need to be hard interrupted to stop an immediate recast.

I was hoping the talent trees would at least give us an option to drop some utility or power in favor of interrupts for all specs and now just 3 classes in that is already out the window.

I knew to wait for the other shoe to drop with this expansion. There was always going to be something. And now that there’s an obvious issue, lets sit back and watch blizzard revert to its old ways of thinking they have it right and refusing to make changes that the players want.

Very surprised to see so many calling for PI to be removed. It’s such an iconic ability.

Yeah it feels bad to not have PI cast on you, but it’s only cast on good players or the GMs girlfriend.

So either get good or become the GMs girlfriend!

Searing Nightmare is clunky as hell and incredibly unfun to use, as it’s been all throughout SL. There’s got to be a better solution to Shadow’s mediocre AoE than SN. Straight buffing Mind Sear’s damage like 500% would be better.

Nobody cares for iconic over everyone arguing or being angry that they didn’t get PI. You severely overestimate how mad players get when they aren’t hit with PI.

That’s why it needs to either be removed or be a self buff. It also literally doesn’t make any sense that your most powerful ability/CD is told to be cast on someone else other than yourself.

Like it’s cool for support, but at the same time it creates way too much friction that it absolutely needs to be removed or it needs to be a self only CD like the rest of the CDs are.

If Blizzard decides to reduce the amount of these spells, I don’t mind healers not having an interrupt.

But that means all healers shouldn’t have one. Resto wind shear needs to go.

And now that twin suns is a talent, you don’t have to mald if you wanted to keep PI for yourself, because you can give it to someone else and still benefit.

Blows my mind. We’ve complained about it since it was added, its about as universally despised as you can get and they do nothing to change it.

Unfortunately, they won’t do this because that’s one of the only ways they know of how to test skill and reward skill.

Would be so much better if they reduce 1 shots down to 90% HP reduction loss so there’s no 1 shot and instead you have a DoT that ticks for 3% HP per second after losing 90% HP so you have a chance at being able to live and it gives the healers some counter play to it and a reason to heal more things.

Agreed, except that it’s still going to create so much friction within your raid for people still not getting PI. Even moreso among people playing the same specs. Just creating needless drama by keeping that 1 ability able to be casted on someone else.

Druids are getting the option to pick up an interrupt for all 4 specs.
If wind shear goes away I might actually just quit altogether. I’ve had a ranged interrupt since I first made this character. They mess with that and I’m out.

About Searing Nightmare:

  • It is in a position on the tree that is completely optional and is not a prereq for anything else, so it is easily skipped.
  • It is in a choice node, such that even if you go to that talent you can still choose not to take it
  • If you follow the left side of the tree from Psychic Link → Mental Fortitude → Sanguine Teachings → Idol of N’zoth, there is a clear intent for an AoE rotation based around spreading vampiric touch.
  • Having access to additional choices is the entire point of these trees, so removing a talent just because you don’t like it would be entirely antithetical to the design. It existing in an entirely optional nature is only good for the game

I really wish there was a way to bring disc more like they were in Mists of Pandaria. My priest was my main and the WOD rework made it boring and the Legion rework made be abandon the class.

Having to keep dots on targets and track them is not fun, I wouldn’t mind if Atonement buffs would be put like Divine Aegis was and that your rotation would basically be Penance, Smite, PW: Shield, Prayer of Healing, Prayer of Mending and Divine Star.

I would kill for a talent that would make the atonement buff work like divine aegis, but instead of absorb damage it’s the duration of the buff that changes with damage.

Not having to use SW:Pain/Purge the Wicked and tracking all those buffs would be so much more interesting.

Or at least have the option.

Also. Is there an actual way to get Shadowfiend as Disc/Holy? this seems rather complicated in terms of talents you don’t want.

Searing Nightmare should be removed. If they want to give Shadow a mass aoe option, surely there’s something better than what we have currently.
