World of Warcraft doesn't respect your time

yea I think within 10% overtime is fair. If it were just able to be reset, it would avoid so many situations of just in time timing which I would see as a negative.

The best keys? under a second to victory.

Or 4 seconds left, and a death. (Timer reduction is slightly delayed.)

So the thing to remember when people complain about a lack of healers is that a very large portion of that is due to how non-healers act, usually from a place of ignorance.

This drives healers to play with people they like/trust.

Similar with tanks.

You end up with a bunch of angsty dps players just sitting there brooding over not having anybody to play with. And by a bunch I mean a lot.

I’m hoping that the ship named after him (and it’s associated drone boaty mcboatface) have a long and successful life to honor him. Also thanks to youtube we will be able to preserve such wonderful things as this:

That’s okay, i don’t respect Activision either n tend to have something else to do on the side while waiting, be it playing on my Switch or listening to music/podcasts etc.

Yeah, it’s insane to see how many DPS apply for a key or a rated battleground group.

You can just keep scrolling and scrolling through all the little sword symbols.

They really are a dime a dozen, lol. And because of that, ‘good’ DPS are probably harder to find, so they get selective.

Back on my Resto Shaman, it was like I was made of solid gold, everyone wanted a piece.

Yep. Everybody wants and needs a healer but nobody wants to be the healer. :dracthyr_yay_animated:

Would missing by say, more than 10% of time, or quitting completely deplete the key by multiple levels then? That seems like the trade off.

-1 is already bricked anyway, don’t need harsher penalties.

You’re not wrong at all; player behavior absolutely is a detrimental factorb for Healers.

My decision to quite healing came Years ago after Druids were in such a good place heal wise and then they got nerfed useless. I don’t know how Druid healing is these days, it could be good for all I know now. I just remember going from “this is pretty great” to “oh hell no”.

I bet if I leveled up my disc priest, I’d get super fast queues.

But then in BGs, I’d be the lone healer. Meanwhile the Alliance side has like 5 healers.

I’m not confident enough to heal current dungeons. Plus, and speaking to the leaver crowd, I have extreme family life aggro.

Don’t be so sure! Got my cheeks handed to me because Horde outnumbered us healer-wise in my last few battlegrounds.

It’s like a see-saw I guess, lol.

And yet it was only relatively recently resto druids were included in the race to world first.

It’s for two reasons.

First and foremost, being a DPS generally speaking doesn’t require as much of a brain; you just mash buttons until stuff falls down while the tank is getting punched in the face and the healer keeps spraying fire retardant on your feet.

Second, there is a fundamentally different kind of dopamine hit that you get from seeing big yellow numbers flying around all over the place versus desperately trying to keep everyone fully healed or the Tank’s ability to not fall down when they get punched in the face.

A biproduct of this system would be that the very top players who run M+ as a job (jokingly) would be more inclined to complete keys that failed the timer. So, that immediately improves their experience, unless they glorious mess up too many times.

And for the more casual M+ runners, you’d feel like a good group isn’t regressing your key progress.

The only downside could be that farming groups purposefully fail a key, but stay within overtime, to farm a specific dungeon for some reason.

Implementing a system where you get penalized for failing a key…combined with implementing a system designed to fail a high portion of your keys due to the inherent design of that system…

You dont think those two things together wont foster an incredibly negative environment?

Between the failing of the key and the players being “toxic” with each other about failing keys?

Dont confuse disagreement with attacking people.

If there was a surrender system it could also absolutely be abused, people would throw up surrender votes the moment things go awry. I wouldn’t pug period if they introduced something like this because I honestly have zero faith in this community at large. It would absolutely be abused.

that’s why it should give you a new key instead of letting you keep the old one.

Did I not say that I have no idea how Druids are doing as Healers now? Hard to take a shot at me when I already gave a disclaimer on it.

Yeah, reminds me how nobody wanted to play Support in League of Legends, and the always had the longest queues.

Everyone wants to be ‘that guy’ who gets the kills or does the most damage.

The game having a more content doesn’t mean the game is actually better. The quality of the content being added to the game isn’t that great.

The game since BFA is clearly lacking resources, and fresh ideas. The fact that one of the developers was saying they don’t have enough devs to even the handle the most basic content updates moving forward says a lot about the modern game.

I get why you guys defend the game on here, it is basically sunk cost fallacy, and arguing with critics on the forums is a way of dealing with the anxiety that WoW is really in a major decline.

Most players that are having fun with the game don’t post on the forums. This is the same for almost any MMO forum. The apologists that spend a lot of time defending the game are just in some sort of form of denial.

If you were truly having fun with the game, you wouldn’t be posting on here all day.

I’ve always had a sneaky suspicion that some of these apologists are actually developers of the game. If you look at almost any complaint thread, it has the same usual suspects jumping into the thread and just clogging it up with non-stop posting until people just give up.
