everyone will do that… no one will ever sub to farm rare mounts anymore… they will just wait for the remix of that expansion.
That wasn’t how they were originally intended to be obtained though. I still have my warrior camped at Siege of Orgrimmar to walk in and explode the boss for a chance at the mount and shoulders before logging out whenever I run out of things to do.
The effort has already been stripped away years ago, getting the currency in the remix event takes way more effort than just rolling some dice. Like, Ashes of Alar dropped on my very first run of Tempest Keep but I passed on it so my friend could get it since he was running me through that old content.
Mount collectors probably won’t change their ways, rolling dice after one-shotting something is easy, low effort, and gives that “Aw yeah finally” moment when you win it, like gambling. A deterministic way that just takes time would be like offering a bandage for those who are particularly unlucky, like people who still don’t have Invincible when I got it with low effort and less than 70 account-wide kills.

If you’re unlucky, yeah. All of my rare drop mounts had less than triple digit attempts to acquire. Some people have been farming things with multiple alt characters since they became available and still don’t have it, giving them an easy way after all of this time is a benefit. Those that already obtained it, either by insisting on pursuing it through bad luck or by simply getting it with good luck easily, it doesn’t matter because we already had it, other people obtaining it doesn’t diminish our own personal value of it.
no one wants to spend thousands of hours farming a rare mount when they know they can get it for free when the remix releases. That’s just common sense…
i know i won’t bother farming any mounts anymore. i was gonna finish up my A World Awoken Achieve, but i’ll just wait for DF remix and get Taivan for free from that by doing a couple dungeons and DE’ing some gear.
so by doing this, blizzard will actually lose tons of money in subs.
If there is one thing above all else I do during the Mop Remix event, it will be to buy the Sha of Anger mount. Everything else will put on hold until I have that mount and I never have to go back out there to farm it on retail.

I have five accounts, I don’t think I plan on quitting any time soon. My wife also plays this game with me, as well as a lot of friends we’ve met over the years.

I mean, if you can wait 15 years with the hope that they repeat the event for Dragonflight, that’s on you. I’ve been enjoying my Taivan mount in the present.
One of my guildies is currently sitting on 753 mounts, they are a very persistent bunch and likely won’t quit trying because of a conspiracy theory that every Mount ever will be obtainable the same way.

Nope, won’t feel bad in the slightest because there should always be more people with the big boy. Just like how I didn’t feel bad in the slightest about the Tyrael Charger or any of the other Twitch rewards or Trading Post mounts. Mount collecting isn’t a competition to me. Similar to how I don’t feel bad that other people went and one-shot Heroic Sha of Fear for the Fearless title when my group got it as a realm first, the value of the title is exactly the same to me regardless of how easy it is to get now.
i mean taivan is nothing but a plus one in everyone’s collection. no one uses it.

Their entire post thus far has been nothing but BS, so it’s not surprising.
I use it. I see other people using it now since Nat Pagle spawned. Also, there is zero indication that in-game achievement mounts will ever return as something handed out for free.
So, considering you keep going in circles and making up non-existent “what if” scenarios, if I see someone getting Bruto, Meta achievement mounts, and Gladiator mounts just for logging in, then you might have an argument but WoW is more likely to go to F2P before that happens anyways.
Good talk, but considering I’ve seen more optimistic nihilists, I think that’s enough of this for me today.

If they had been paying even the slightest attention, they’d know it has been a fan favorite all expac.
