Woot Palia Beta

Where did I say you couldn’t post? I replied amused by your comment, not ot argue. You did that yourself. lol

It’s an excellent game, but like any game, if you go into it without an open mind, you probably will set your expectations accordingly.

I’d say if you’re ever bored and looking for something different, give Stardew a try. It’s a great game, but you should start it at your own time.

Ah. Thanks for the write up. Def not a game for me.

I’ll keep my eyes on Ashes for when they release in 17 years.

couldn’t care less about casual crafting mmo with no combat and predotary cosmetic shop with fakecoins (yes i know it’s in every game, that doesn’t mean i will like it)

Oh. Neat. Open beta starts next week. Woo.

So on an unfortunate note… Palia isn’t listed in GeForce Experience or in the Nvidia control panel. So I can’t specifically change the settings for it. :frowning:

That all sounds boring as hell.

When do you get to lop heads off?

I swear, some of y’all would play a nursing home game, you buncha boring Nancies.

Lol I don’t think it’s made with combat being a focus at all, it’s moreso a game about relaxing more than anything.

Honestly seems like a game my female gamer friends would enjoy a lot- a lot of them are playing similar titles, like Disney Dreamlight Valley and Animal Crossing, with a focus on cosmetics more than anything else. People like to look good and express themselves in games.

I use Pam Stamp to simulate super plastic forming of titanium sheet metal at 1650F. The dies are typical over 5,000 lbs @$18 per, and the sheets are around $3K each. The software cost my company around $150K, but with the cost of design failure it’s worth it. My ram usage isn’t too bad, but the CPU cores fill up during the solve phase.

Click the “add” button and navigate to the games exe file to add it to the control panel. GeForce experience I don’t have installed because it asked to make an account. I didn’t want yet another account to maintain for simple video game settings

I thought it was going to be around that much.
lol
I’ll need one a bit more affordable. It would be a hobby toy for me.

Though 3D asset creation software can run into the thousands.
zbrush alone is $1300 per year. I can justify those costs because they are “cheap”. Relatively speaking of course as compared to other common hobbies, like golf.

edit:

so you are one of the guys that makes the titanium sheet that looks like corrugated paper? Nice, Sounds like a fun job.

Nothing can be worse than Guild Wars 1…

There is hunting, I believe. For furs and leathers and whatnot.

Just remember: It’s a Chill game meant for kids and NOT a ‘spend your entire life grinding all the things to be the 1000th best’ one.

It’s going to be a free to play game with cosmetic mtx.

Is this the fancy minecraft game with no threats? Basically a camping sim?

Oooh okies, thanks.

LOL fair. I just used my Google account.

Unfortunately, it looks like half the stuff we talked with the devs about before and during Alpha isn’t going to be part of the game. There was talk of lots of open world questing, roleplaying features, etc. I haven’t heard much of anything or seen much of anything since. There’s not even emotes or say or anything. They really did make it a child’s game.

Thus far, it seems like the kid’s version of New World. Except of course, there are romance options eventually for the NPCs.

Most keyboard games also use w for forward and turn with the mouse? Do you use keyboard to turn?

In other words, it’s not like WoW controls. It’s strictly, hit W to go forward and when you move the mouse, the character goes in that direction. So you can’t look around your character, the environment or anything like that.

Me too I love it they have build your own house. You cook fish explore mine…it’s a cozy mmo…so it’s perfect…there no combat…

I haven’t followed any news on it since the reveal. I think it looks like a cozy mmo … definitely moving away from the typical mmo design it seems like.

Not sure the longevity of it but it’ll definitely cater to the cosmetic-player housing group which is surprisingly big if done right.
