Woot Palia Beta

There’s not much dress up in Palia unless you use the shop. The game was built for console definitely. It plays fine on PC, but controls are definitely more console driven.

Never played any of those. No idea. Palia is supposed to have adventuring with friends and an underlying story about why humans disappeared and where to and why they’re returning. But I haven’t gotten that far yet.

Hm from what I’ve read

" It’s like a Dreamlight Valley MMO, but with extras . A first gameplay look into Palia, an upcoming cozy MMO, features a familiar Disney Dreamlight Valley aesthetic set in a fantasy world with romanceable characters, character customization options, skill lines, and even combat."

I mean I guess it would be ok but from watching the trailer all I see is I’d play it for 5 min and get bored lel

wait, go play stardew valley right now.

Everyone likes different stuff.

I’ll pass.

Nuclear winter im guessing

I like to play with photo realistic 3D models that measure in the millions of polys. I can run my system OOM if I’m not careful.

Yes, I can take a video game asset type of approach, but that isn’t the level of detail I want. I’m looking for much better than that.

edit: Not sure which FEA sim you are using, but I might be interested in one of those also lol

yea, I’m a total nerd that does pointless things with my hobby time.
Fluid dynamics for hydo-electric impellers interests me.

What link? Who are you?

It’s 6 posts above yours, now there are a bunch.

A game without combat. No thanks.

Is this the one that looks like it’s just another Harvest Moon? Or am I confusing it for something else that looks like it has similar models?

“Woot Palia Beta” sounds like a fun sorority name!

Huh, the characters and setting look pretty interes-

“As one of the newly reappeared humans, you’ll-“

PASS.

Why do so many games these days have an amazing fantasy setting, then force you to play as the single most boring race possible?

Lucky T_T.

I’m signed and was hoping to get in. Hopefully there’s another beta pass. A game where I can log in and just fudge around and chill? Sounds like my kind of party.

Gameplay actually reminds me of New World (the housing and crafting/fishing) or Valheim, combined with Animal Crossing, and is an MMO-lite or something like that.

-Resources around you to gather and craft stuff with, trees and rocks and stuff. Also fishing, but there’s also hunting, I’ve seen them catch bugs and use a bow to shoot things. Gardening is also a thing, so a bit of Farmville there. I’m assuming you can cook as well.

-Skill levels, so you can basically devote yourself to a ‘profession’, probably plays heavily into the multiplayer aspect of things. If you’re the good miner, maybe people will seek you out, or you can be self-sufficient but it’ll take a lot more time. Trading does exist.

-Housing and customization is a big part of this game, which is why I brought up Animal Crossing. There’s a city hall and you’re doing stuff for the town you live in. It looks to be the best part of this game, the housing. Honestly pretty good.

-Villager NPCs that roam around and do stuff, and you have a relationship/reputation system with them, it’s pretty cool.

-There’s a questing system, with rewards. Probably to push players out of their own preferred habitual gameplay and try new things.

-Cosmetics are another big focus of the game, makes sense along with the housing. It’s about players expressing themselves.

-An “adventure island” I know nothing about yet, lol. I’m sure there’s some mysterious enemies to fight.

Basically, all-in-all, it’s a casual lifestyle sorta game, in the same vein as Animal Crossing or Farmville, but it also has the benefits of being an MMO as well.

Looks like a fantasy version of The Sims. Pass.

It’s not. At all. LOL I find it funny how no one actually researchs what it is and makes assumptions. Like the one who said it’s Fortnight.

The art styles look similar to me, and art style is a big factor in deciding if I want to play a game or not. I’m not obligated to provide you with a 10 page thesis on why I do or do not want to play a game.

No one asked for your thesis or explanation. But claiming it’s the Sims is just wrong. I really don’t care if you want to play it or not.

Public forum and whatnot. Is there literally anything you won’t try to argue about?
