Hmm, seems to be a contradiction hereā¦

When, when did this happen?
WoD, completely unrelated to when blizzard stopped reporting sub counts.
But didnāt they eventually add flying to WoD?
Or was that retroactive to playersā responses?
Yes eventually, after they lost millions on subs, which also revealed that they could enable flying at the drop of a hat(a claim that was made) was a lie, and have since been passive aggressive and time gated flying.
Oh and anyone calling me a retail baby, see above.
Folks have similarly called out Blizzard for making false claims about stuff they can or cannot do with Hearthstone.
Iām thinking this is just another reason why they donāt talk with the public like they used to. Far less likely to get caught lying if you simply donāt say anything at all.
No blizzard flat out lost millions of subs with WoD, they stopped reporting sub counts after that report showing how much they lost.
Oh, I wasnāt disagreeing with you.
Was just saying their distinct lack of communication is probably evidence that theyāve learned they canāt keep lying and get away with it.
So, silence is a far better option than outright lying about things like flying mounts or whatever else.
It is within our universe, so, I strongly believe it is universal.
Blizzard! please! we NEED dual spec badly this game is dying!
Game isnāt dying. You might just be on a smaller realm.
Try whitemane if you want a realm that has massive activity every hour of the day.
Iām on a huge server, and the game is definitely dying.
People only raid log now.
The game is on its last legs.
If itās dying it is due to lack of content, not lack of QoL features.
Adding dual spec will do nothing but speed up guilds progress, and reduce time spent respeccing and grinding gold to do so (which some treat as just another consumable). Itās one less thing to do each week in game.
Less to do exacerbates the problem.
I really enjoyed your Ghostcrawler link because he is saying exactly the same thing Iāve been sayingā¦
https://www.bluetracker.gg/wow/topic/us-en/15973677341--blizzard-gc-quote-and-balance/
"We already let players respec at will and just charge them for it. Plenty of Resto druids healed raids and then went Feral to do quests the rest of the week. Plenty of mages raid as Fire and PvP as Frost. We just thought in this case that the talent system got in the way of players enjoying the game rather than rewarding them for making good but hard choices. Commiting to being sub-optimal for parts of the game you enjoy was just a drag.
You can run back to town and respec in the middle of a raid, and plenty of people did that already (and hated it)ā¦ If the fight is too challenging, then you will see tanks porting home to respec or just stepping out for another dps. Dual-spec wonāt suddenly make those situations trivial.
There will be fights where you do need multiple true tanks, but dual-spec helps us there. Otherwise we are essentially asking guilds to clear the whole instance with 4 tanks or swap out some dps for tanks on those few fights. It would be nice if the person swapping in and out were the same person (via dual spec)." - Ghostcrawler
Yes and that reflected the values applied to WoTLK and not the values applied to TBC.
GC was the lead designer largely responsible for the modern MMO development paradigm.
This may or may not be a good thing but itās out of place in TBC which is very much old school.
All you have done is identify the same design issues people playing TBC at the time did and then identified the same fixes at that time. Youāre repeating history. We know what happened already.
Let TBC be an example of the design goals of TBC and let WoTLK be an example of a more modern approach - as it was.
Itās absurd to make TBC fit that later paradigm. Itād be better to skip the TBC expansion entirely.
The game that conforms to GCs vision is WoTLK and it was his argument against his predecessors vision - TBC. Let it play its course. Let TBC conform to its core design ideals and WoTLK when it arrives conform to its own.
It begs the question - what is the point of having a classic version of the game if its core design principles arenāt preserved?
Raid logging isnāt from lack of āQoLā features.
Itās a symptom of lack of interesting content or not feeling existing content is rewarding enough to do.
For example I do the fishing daily every day because I want the hat.
I do the cooking every day as well because it letās me help my tanks farm their food buff and I already have all recipes from it.
There is still content to do, people just donāt feel itās worth doing, and thatās a them problem.
