Final Fantasy has its own gameplay. It would be fun to some. But not to me. I am more with competitive gameplay even though I am casual.
Dungeons/Mythic+ and Raids is my thing. And I still believe WoW is way better against Final Fantasy. People who appreciate competitive Dungeons arguably prefer WoW. Those who cant become competitive are starting to hate WoW and be enticed by easier gameplay MMOs.
FF can entice such people. I dont care. I dont want WoW to adjust to be an “EASY” game. I am fine with the game difficulty from what it is right now although I find Shadowlands harder than all other past expansions.
If FF is surpassing WoW, it’s becoz of accessibility of the content. WoW dungeons are arguably way harder. Harder to access its BiS loots. If the solution to entice people is to soften the difficulty, I am against it. Keep WoW to what it is.
BTW, people are just bored right now becoz they run out of content. This is normal becoz of the delay caused by the Pandemic. Some of the bored people just went to TBC Classic. But people would come back on 9.1. And people would come back for the next expansion on 10.0. I will bet you WoW is still the best MMO in there. It just it run out of content for now.

My only gripe with FF14 is the unskippable story. You MUST DO ALL THIS! is not a fun idea.

I still will never understand the FF14 Hype.
It’s just a bog standard japanese anime mmo with references to the final fantasy series, the game plays pretty bloody awful.

ff14 is a shallow ocean. most of people sit around in the FC house checking their glamor while waiting on roulette to play the same ridiculously easy dungeons, get aggro of the whole dungeon and aoe everything. what about classes? all the tanks have zero identity and have almost identical abilities. rotations ? zero creativity, everybody has to use the same rotation otherwise you lose dps. every class is a dps class even the healers. it is a good game but people put it on a pedestal. it gets boring as any other game. and the story ? convoluted af

And yet the audience of FFXIV seems to be happier with the game they’re playing. IMO, which game is better depends largely what which can give you what you’ve been looking for, period, stop, end, reset carriage.
Here’s the crazy thing, though: one of the talking points about FFXIV is that the developers get along with the community and on the whole, are in touch with their wants and needs and respond in kind. It’s interesting that they have to bring this up when contrasting it to the acrimonious relationship the WOW devs seems to have their own players.

Communication is important IMVHO.
I’d rather play no game at all than some weaboo crap like Final Fantasy.
FF is better than watching television. Well worth the money IMO.

you are the type of person that cheers for a sports team but cant name the line up.
I love FF animation too.
Plus, it improved a lot compared to when it first launched. When it first launched it was a clunky mess!
