Witch and Witchdoctor Classes

This is basically Shaman/Zandalari Priest.

  • Shamans draw their power from the elements (earth, air, fire, water) and the spirits of nature. They act as intermediaries between the physical world and the spirit world, using elemental forces to heal, fight, and defend.
Shadow Priests tap into the Void and shadow magic, harnessing the power of the dark and forbidden forces of the universe. Their abilities are centered around mind control, fear, and draining the life force from enemies. They are often portrayed as wielders of malevolent psychic power, often drawing the attention of the Old Gods.
  • Witch Doctors primarily draw their power from voodoo magic, focusing on spirits and Loa (spiritual deities or ancestors). They channel dark, mystical forces to curse enemies, heal allies, and manipulate the spiritual realm.

At one point priest were culturally focused but that is now gone from them. So, I agree they do not function like Witch Doctors.

It’d be funny to have a Troll witch-doctor being told “Stay away from the Voodoo!”.

lol That would be the best!

That describes both Zandalari Priests AND Shamans in lore. Shamans have abilities to hex and curse folks and draw from nature, Zandalari Priests do the same thing, drawing on Loa to curse, hex, and a number of other things in their lore.

All these things mentioned are just lesser aspects of Shaman lore. And for Zandalari Priests theirs as well. We saw the things Bwonsamdi and even just the Priesthood were capable of in Zandalar and Dazar’alor. Particularly powerful followers of a Loa’s Priesthood are effectively skilled Witchdoctors.

As a Shaman main I am going to disagree. The lore states that Loa spirits are more powerful than the elementals, but not as powerful as gods. Elementals are not Loa. Hex is not enough to justify it. Witch Doctors in Warcraft specifically draw power from the Loa, invoking their spirits to heal, curse enemies, and summon powerful manifestations of these spirits. Shamans do not do that.

“Witch doctors are semi-playable as troll priests with shadowy magic, ritualistic chants, and spiritual guidance, shamans with wards being replaced by totems, and warlocks with curses, soul harvesting, haunt).” People don’t want semi-playable. They want fully-playable.

Okay, then why not advocate for those classes to get lore accurate improvements? If they’re halfway there already, it’s just more reasonable to give them a 4th spec, not everything has to be a new class.

Same with races, we’re to the point where we’re adding new races and classes that could’ve just honestly improved something that was already there baseline.

Tinkers are also semi-playable but people still want them. They want Witch Doctors also! No one wants a half-baked version of a class. They want the real deal. People are not agreeing with you Hèrne.

Full class is more fun!

I mean, do you remember what happened last time they added such thematically similar classes? The devs straight up multilated one just to make an incomplete two specs out of the new class. (DHs and Warlocks)

Washes his hands like Pilate of the sock puppeting nonsense as he notices the like are all from Shuhalo

As a Warlock main since classic I do! I am fine with a Witch Doctor class being added. More specs can still pull apart other classes. Would rather have a full class. same sever because we are all friends… It’s nice to play a game with your mates. You could try that instead of fighting with people.

wash hands…

With the logic you use no Tinker should ever be added because it is semi-playable with engineering. I am all for a Witch Doctor class! Add it as a stand-alone class!

A profession is not a semi playable version of a class.

The simple reality is that Blizzard already has a witch and witch doctor class: Shaman.

Ironic how the only one to like your post is Teriz… It is like you are the same Tinker obsessed person…

And can you prove this? Seems you’re just mad it’s kinda come out that you’re using alts from the same realm? It’s a bit suspicious how the same folks like them over and over. Maybe you’re not sock puppeting, but I’d bet good money someone in the thread IS.

Or they’re using their guildies/friends to mass like. That many people from the same realm don’t just dogpile posts.

Wowpedia says the following… “Tinkers (or tinkerers and tinkologists) are engineers mostly represented by gnomes, goblins, and dwarves of the Alliance, Horde and the Venture Company.” You got Tinkers with the logic you use…

We are just tired of Teriz…

If I can’t raid in a mech suit using Tinker abilities, none of that jargon matters.

Meanwhile you have a class currently in the lineup that uses Shadow Hunter and Witch Doctor abilities from WC3.
