So I had an idea awhile back, on two classes that are the same, but named differently for each race.
Basically it’s the same class, just named differently for flavor purposes.
It would be sort of a combination of elements from Druid, Warlock, and shaman. Flinging out curses and hexes, communing with spirits, and potentially dealing with pets/fetishes (Not those kinds you degenerates lol) and potentially some minor shapeshifting ability.
One way you could look at this is in the light of Dungeons and Dragons, or Pathfinder more precisely which is based of dungeons and dragons. The witch is a flavored class all on its own, whereas shamans, warlocks, druids, also exist in this world, witches have their own special theme, centered mainly around hexes.
Now there are three specs I have a mind for with this, or we could just do two as DH’s only have 2 specs. (As for explanation of where these classes come from. Kul’tiras Witches, Zandalari/Darkspear Witchdoctors.)
So the three specs.
Hexa/Hexmaster - Specializes in delivering debilitating hexes on targets with a myriad of effects. Hexes improve off of one another, leading to greater effects. Think DoTs/debuffs that gain increased effects when paired with different DoTs/debuffs. For example Two of your debuffs may increase the damage of all DOTs you put on an enemy, however another Debuff might turn a % of the damage dealt by DOTs into a healing absorption shield on the enemy.
Spirit Healer - You literally commune with spirits and otherworldly entities to buff and heal your allies. Each healing spell also applies some sort of buff onto your target. For example summoning a spirit of Valor to heal a warrior might give them an extra 10% attack power/Strength. However summoning a spirit of the wind may increase the movement speed of an ally by a certain percentage.
Voodoo - Using dolls/effigies, you inflict direct pain to your enemies. You can even create living effigies and dolls to attack your targets. Think of a Witchdoctor stabbing a voodoo doll with needles to incapacitate/wound enemies, while doing something similar to a demonologist warlock in summoning various fetishes and constructs to attack their foes.
So what are your thoughts on these class ideas? Would they work? Do you have things you would add? Do they appeal to anyone’s class fantasy?
P.S. I know Blizzard isn’t good at balancing, but just bare with me and believe if they could perfectly balance this, would it work?
