Terror of the Skies - turns Breath of Eons/Deep Breath into a 3 sec stun 2 min / 1 min depending on specialization

Priest Class Tree
Interrupt - PW: GFY
Stun - PW: GFY - Unless your shadow and then we have so many 2 point nodes we lose dps taking it but we’re already close to the bottom

Give us an interrupt for we can be aligned with the rest of the classes and move Silence to the PvP tree.
Move Psychic Horror / Chastise to the class tree

Please fix the class tree and all of the 2 point nodes in Shadow. I can’t speak for Discipline or Holy.

Movement and Scaling

Scale Power Word: Shield, increase the cooldown to 20 or 30 seconds but make it worthwhile and replace Angelic Feather with Umbral Surge

Umbral Surge - Surge in a wave of void energy, phasing through enemies and obstacles while increasing your movement speed by 50% for 4 seconds. This ability is a short dash with a temporary speed boost. It allows you to reposition quickly or dodge mechanics. Enemies you pass through are briefly disoriented for 1 second. Think of it as blink/hover that removes / phases through roots. We need a form to remove roots from ourself.
Cooldown: 25 seconds - 2 charges. It could also replace Angelic Feather with the same - 3 charges - 20 sec cooldown.

Or

Void Step - A teleportation ability where the Void Priest steps through the Void, instantly traveling a short distance and leaving behind an afterimage that briefly lingers, distracting enemies. Enemies who touch the afterimage are feared in place for 3 seconds.

We don’t have lust or brez, Mass Dispel was nerf to the ground what else do we bring to the table? A stamina buff.

Please scale Void Tendrils and Flash Heal as well

Both major cooldowns for Shadow require a cast time. The only spec in the game that has this. Make them instant, why are we the only ones. Halo also used to be an instant cast.

Spreading Dots

Corruption of the Old Gods - an ability that causes any target affected by Vitality Touch or Shadow Word: Pain to transfer the DoT to nearby enemies when they take a critical hit from the Priest’s abilities.

Tentacles summon through Idol of C’Thun spread dots to nearby enemies.

Void Torrent spreads dots to nearby enemies with every tick.

Void Eruption taken away from Voidform with 2 Charges on a 20 sec cooldown. Shadow Crash is too slow and the way they’re designing the game to be fast paced i.e. Mythic + or mechanics where adds need to die quick. We can’t rely on Shadow Crash. 30 sec cd - 2 charges with every kill reducing the cooldown by 1 sec.

Idols need rework except for C’Thun

Idol of Yogg-Saron ( Psychic Link is our only AOE atm)
Every time you deal damage with your shadow abilities, Yogg-Saron whispers to your enemies having a chance to summon a shadowy apparition link to your target sharing health.
or
Having a chance to summon a shadowy apparition at the enemy’s location that pulses shadow energy dealing damage to all enemies within 10 yds every 1 sec for 8 sec.

Idol of Y’Shaarj
(Y’Shaarj is associated with emotions like anger, fear, and hatred, as well as corruption of the mind and body.)

Siphon of Despair
Every time you cast a direct damage ability, you siphon negative emotions from your target, building stacks of Despair. At 15 stacks, you unleash an Avatar of Y’Shaarj, dealing shadow damage to all nearby enemies and increasing your damage by 15% for 10 seconds.

Gift of Anger / Pride
Your damaging abilities have a chance to apply the Gift of Anger/Pride/Y’Shaarj which increases your critical strke chance by 1 or 2% stacking to 10. Each time you land a critical strike, summon a Sha of Anger/Pride for 8 seconds, which attacks your enemies and generate insanity. Each Sha of Anger/Pride reduces the damage dealt by enemies within 10 yards by 10%. If three or more Sha are active, you gain Dominion, increasing your damage by 15% for 10 seconds.

Idol of N’Zoth - increase the damage and the stack to 6. I’ll gladly take Twilight Devastation instead of Echoing Void or Infinite Star.
or
Your abilities have a chance to summon an Eye of N’Zoth - that fires a beam of shadow energy that blasts all enemies - reduced beyond 8 targets.

This are some of the ideas, I think would help the spec.
** Edit 1: Instead of removing Body and Soul to replace Angelic Feather with Umbral Surge / Void Step **

The worst part of the spec tree are those 3 idols with awesome naming and lore that are all absolute trash talents.

Disc: Void summoner 4.0 seconds up from 2.0 seconds. Enduring Luminescence baseline. Increase atonement healing in raid.

I just want empowered renew and anything mobility related. Some talent adjustments simply to change things up would be fine

I miss empowered renew so much, it made renew feel worth casting for more than just healing chorus.

I love the void step idea. I’ve always thought it was weird that rogues can manipulate the shadows better than shadow priest, who’s speciality is the shadows…err the void or whatever a shadow priest is supposed to be now

A void priest.

A… void priest?

Avoid Priest! YOU GUYS

Class tree rework is the main thing on my wishlist. Especially for the right side of the tree, its just so boring.

Tithe Evasion, Apathy, the leech talents (these are okay but with leech nerfed they aren’t nearly as good as before), Cauterizing Shadows and Manipulation are some of the most bland talents I’ve seen. Doesn’t feel exciting at all to path through this side of the tree. I want to see these reworked into much more interesting and valuable talents.

On top of that we still have too many 2 pointers. Throes of Pain should go down to a 1 pointer, that or Improved Fade. The row with Throes of Pain is all 2 pointers, and the row right below it with Improved Fade has 3/5 of the talents as 2 pointers. Thats crazy. Leads to not being able to swap around talents nearly as much as we should be able to.

Then we also have talents that can stay but need updates because they just don’t feel current at all, examples being:

Move with Grace and Phantasm. Move with Grace is pretty bland, 30 second cdr to Leap isn’t bad but it isn’t exciting either. For example, Evokers get 1 min rescue baseline and their class tree talent gives both the evoker and the rescued a shield. It would be nice to see something extra added to Move with Grace, maybe a small power word: shield could apply to both, that would be nice as that would give move speed with body and soul too. Phantasm should grant 2-3 second snare immunity because there are way too many snares both active and passive in the game now with no CD at all. You press fade and phantasm just does nothing now because you get instantly slowed again, usually passively lol.

Moving more of priest’s utility/cc to pvp talents is not the play.

Am i missing where people said that? could be blind but i dont see anyone talking about pvp talents here

The only thing I can think of is where you were talking about Leap of Faith and how you think it should get a shield like Rescue can talent into on Evoker— and maybe that made this person think of the PvP Talent Move with Grace (EDIT: *Absolute Faith).

And maybe this made them feel annoyed when thinking about the benefits we have in our PvP talents that we don’t get in the PvE trees in general.

Move with Grace Absolute Faith would be super nice in PvE. So would Ultimate Radiance and Phase Shift. But alas.

Which makes me think about how Halo having a cast time is silly by the way!!!

Oh yeah but the pvp talent for leap is not great, its called Absolute Faith. Its not great mostly because it pulls people randomly based on distance so if you are not exact on your positioning its just pulling random people. If you are far away you pull melee (and they will flame you). If you play with double melee you will pull both of them which can be bad in a lot of cases.

I’d like Move with Grace (the class tree talent that reduces leap by 30s) to apply a small Power Word:Shield to both you and the target you gripped on top of providing 30s cdr. That would be nice because it’d also give both movement speed if talented into Body and Soul. The current Move with Grace feels like every other talent that got either added baseline or reworked when other classes got their class tree reworks, it needs to do a little bit more imo.

I can understand pvp talents feeling a bit frustrating for pve’rs but I dont think Absolute Faith would be wanted. If you play with 2 melee dps and a ranged dps, you could end up gripping people you dont want to grip. Could end up gripping the tank too if he is the furthest from you. Just wouldnt work well imo, maybe you could game it in some situations but it’d require your group to probably position for it too so you dont grip the wrong 3 people.

Yeah I did mess the name up there lol.

This is exactly what Priests should get. I mean if Evokers can steal our unique ability (and do it even better) we should steal a little something from them!

Yeah that is what I find a little annoying lol. They got a better leap of Faith as a 1 min CD baseline, and then get to talent into an absorb for it. I feel like that fits priest way better, but they can still make it unique by allowing it to give power word: shield instead of a generic absorb.

edit: Maybe the other person possibly also confused Phantasm with Phase shift, I’m not sure. But just to clarify I don’t want anything moved into pvp talents, I think priest pvp talents at least for disc/holy are fantastic, tons of options already. That is why I said class tree rework, thats where it all needs to happen.

Sorry, was replying to the thread, and not you specifically.

Is what I was referring to.

Ohhhh. Yeah, I see what you mean.

Definitely do not want Silence to leave the Priest class (in PvE in this scenario I guess). It’s been a staple of the spec since forever. Giving Priest an interrupt ability shouldn’t have to come at the steep cost of losing one of our most prized iconic spells. I’d rather see Silence moved into the class tree, and a cooldown reduction talent put into Shadow’s talent tree. But apparently that’s crazy talk around these parts.

If Silence was put into the class tree, it could be nice to have a talent node underneath Silence that made it into a shorter CD (like 20 seconds), but it would lose the silence effect and just be a plain interrupt. The name wouldn’t really make much sense anymore, but I mean, Silence is Silence. It’s been called that forever lol. (Would probably have to scrap the cooldown reduction talent idea in Shadow tree if they added this).

Silence is tricky.

But if we look at Mages and Warlocks, they don’t need to spend a single point to obtain their interrupt.

So perhaps Shadow should have Silence baseline as well.

Then the interrupt talent (if added) in the class tree would grant Holy and Discipline an actual interrupt and for Shadow it would be the Last Word talent.

So something like this…

  • Harmonious Voice
    [Holy][Discipline]
Interrupt an enemy target from casting a spell for 4 seconds. 45 second cooldown.
    [Shadow]
Reduces the cooldown of Silence by 15 seconds.

Other names that might be better thematically…
Hypnotic Allusion
Mesmeric Wail

This would grant an interrupt for the Priest healing specs while moving the improved silence into the class tree for Shadow.

The justification for thematic reasons in Holy and Discipline to have an interrupt is that they are using their voice to enchant/mesmerize the enemy to stop casting.

This falls in line with similar thematic spells like Hymm of Hope and Divine Hymm as you are using your voice to do something or like Psychic Scream you are using your voice to instill fear into the minds of your enemies.

Ambivalent or support most ideas, BUT leave Body and Soul alone. Iconic staple for Disc priests. Saves so many lives, shielding someone moving through muck and helping them get out of muck faster. One of the best designed talents. I swear, sometimes our worst enemy is our dps spec.

Ironically, Oracle Holy makes Body and Soul so easy to use now that Prayer of Mending puts a little PW: Shield on the target, activating Body and Soul. It’s been so amazing. Love Body and Soul as well!
