Wintergrasp is literal BS

During TBC, they could have left layers off, enforced realm population caps, and offered free transfers from realms with queues, but that makes them no money. They could still do it for WotLK, but now that people already had to spend real $$ to move from dying servers to mega servers, it’d be pretty unfair to hit them with have to choose massive queues or transferring off yet again.

Blizz said they made it into a bg because they can’t make WG work with layering. THEN JUST GET RID OF LAYERING??? Layering ruins the game anyway. Only time it’s needed is on launches.

Grobbulus has a server population of over 17 thousand.

That’s a mega server y’all. Just a faction balanced one.

Grobb will be a one sided trash heap like the rest soon enough. Think of this as insurance.

Rdf was the end of wrath, it shouldn’t be in phase 1

Does nobody read anything or do we just like to complain to the Internet. They clearly stated why they made the changes they did due to technical reasons. That’s all I’m going to say. Feel free to commence with today’s cryings that is all

RDF wasn’t the end of Wrath - it was in for half. However, Dual-Spec shouldn’t be in at launch, nor should any of the other changes.

It was in the intended final raid tier of the game.

They added ruby sanctum due to cata taking so long.

Siege of orgrimmar was the final raid of MoP but lasted half the xpac

It doesn’t matter what content surrounded it. It was in for half the expansion.

Which qualifies as Lich King content?

Like I said, if we’re on the boat of not releasing RDF at launch then we shouldn’t get dual-spec, we shouldn’t get barbershop changes, we shouldn’t have Death Knights in prepatch. Need I go on?

“Well we shouldn’t have x because it didn’t come to y.”

Meanwhile, we have have multiple changes that wasn’t in the original game but I noticed as long as it something people wanted or in their favor, the change is fine lmao. Like give that crap a rest already. Bring LFD nao!

Barbershop was a on the box feature.
Dual spec was always intended on launch.

The CHANGES to the barbershop.

And RDF was intended for launch in Vanilla.

Those changes are because blizzard doesn’t want to micro transaction wrath as much after the portal pass backlash

Regardless of why they’re implemented, they shouldn’t be if RDF can’t be in at launch. Why only change SOME things, well, actually, pretty much everything EXCEPT keeping RDF in?

even on midsized servers in 2008-2009 wintergrasp used to CHUG the server to a standstill every time it started. It was always going to be instanced…people crying about it live in a fantasy world

Literally the only change I’ve been okay with in all of classic was the 12 item mail change.

I’m just being factual

Hard disagree, they are somewhat responsible, but keeping server balance isn’t remotely as easy as you guys pretend it is lol.

You’ve said that Dual-Spec was meant to be in from launch, no actual source there as of yet.

You’ve said that Blizzard only added the Barbershop changes to avoid more cash shop items, but they’ve changed Male/Female to Body #1 and Body #2, so we know that’s not actually the case and they’re trying to save face in the aftermath of the recent allegations made against them.

Where do you present fact?

FFxiv says hello. They cutoff character creation on servers all the time. Hell, they suspended expansion sales because they knew they couldn’t accommodate more players.

Imagine a company turning away money to ensure the players they do have get the best experience possible.

Not even remotely comparable, FF14 doesn’t have factions, with different racials, and ZERO crossplay

Keeping servers at similar populations isn’t even close to the same as maintaining faction balance
