But I didn’t, I responded to someone who said they found a better way than are in my guides to let them know I’m always open to changing based on new information.
Probably beyond the scope of this thread, so you’re more than welcome to come into discord and see if anyone else had similar success with whatever you did differently or if it’s a problem of small sample size.
I don’t know if you’re trolling but 130k is absolutely nothing. We’re looking at specs doing 300-400k in that dungeon.
I’ve also done 150k in that dungeon as BREWMASTER.
6% is a slap in the face when we needed 15% just to be average.
Yeah this is the last straw. My optimism that Blizzard is going to fix this spec is all gone now. The tier set being a proc despite the community being against it just makes playing this spec atrocious. There’s no light at the end of the tunnel - only classes getting more gear and gapping us even more. I think I’ll just play another class instead of waiting around for another month to get the tuning we desperately need.
This meets my quota of needing to read 100 “last straw” comments on the wow forums daily.
I bet only 1 in 100 actually do anything more than stomp their foot and then continue to play the game. Albeit angrily.
Solid reading comprehension on this one.
You actually think switching classes matters? That only rewards blizzard as it puts you further back on the gear treadmill.
You showed them…
Why complain at all? Just take your medicine and pay your $15.
I get that and respect playing not a doomed classes but when the only claim to fame you have is " Windwalker main since early Mists of Pandaria" - Babylonius, and you actually don’t play WW monk every single time WW monk is down and out, it destroys your credibility. And you’ve been handed a discord which you have weaponize to attack anyone that speaks out in the slightest, well I draw the line at bullies be they cyber or in person.
Just look at the signature. Which is clearly established as false since every single time WW has been this bad Babs has switched classes.
You can’t say you have been a main since mop if a large portion of your progress is actually on specs/classes that are not WW monk. Be honest and say WW main when it is decent or good but if things get tough I’ll jump ship and play a spec that works. Or WW main but only when it is viable…
Anyway my rants done. I’ll get back to IRL doing what I do best.
I hope WW gets fixed one day. I hope players speak out enough to get those changes we need. I hope people wake up from drinking the Peak Kool-Aide.
You need to go outside once in a while man.
You need to think of something else to reply with, besides the same washed up response over and over again.
Despite slade’s apparent obsession with the guy who’s name is on the wowhead guide article, the guides and knowledge in the monk discord is the aggregate effort of hundreds of people, not any one person. If you think you have a suggestion or better idea that the guide isn’t answering, feel free to come share it. If your idea holds up under testing and simulation, maybe it will be in the guides next!
I’m sorry that you feel I need to play a spec I do not enjoy to have “credibility”. However, given your credibility on the forums is based on being a level 10 Monk for the past several years, then I think I’m Ok with swapping to a spec I enjoy playing when Blizzard forgets about Windwalker for the 3rd straight expansion.
I have been quiet on here for a few weeks because I have been playing my Druid, but I will continue to advocate for improvements to the spec I love, even if I’m not actively playing it.
If you’re curious about the dps value of talents here’s a neat writeup https:// docs. google.com/document/u/2/d/14h3iEiwEU4_4D-zgQlEADLIrs2yFCNsG9KQ0RPA0vso/edit#heading=h.wf47kolq46ne
tldr: Most talents are literally unplayable
Class discords have nothing to do with the spec being atrocious.
I do think 99.9% of players have no business suggesting changes as typically they don’t accomplish anything productive or what’s even being asked for, but it is the job of the devs to determine what is valid and act on it.
They have not done so at all this expansion. Many talents are simply numerically bad in every situations and Skyreach hard locks the spec to 1m cycles, so ST design space is very constrained and the power budget is highly reliant on damage in a 5-10s window. This is likely why they aren’t heavily aura buffing windwalker, as the burst can become quite silly.
The AoE is simply unplayable and SCK/WDP/FoF need drastic buffs to their multitarget damage. Windwalker also likely needs a way to snap apply MotC or move beyond that design, as snap aoe is increasingly the design choice for raids vs sustained cleave
tldr: Guides can and are frequently wrong, but the difference is rather slight and totally irrelevant to dps balance
I’m a narcissist, when you’re saying an aesthetic is wrong (a subjective statement) just because you don’t like the coloring or look?
Whatever, dude lol. Tell yourself whatever fancies you want. I’m not a dev. I’m not a shaman main. Nor is Holywall my main I specifically do not use my main on the forums for reasons like this… Because y’ar crazy, lmao.
Your opinion doesn’t count less. You just need to learn to say opinions as such instead of stating them as some kind of axiomatic fact with which no one can disagree. It’s not my fault that you don’t have the social skills to discern how to do that.
And yes. I did misspell your name. I’m a complete idiot. You got me.
I just hope and pray you never misspell anything in your life so you can’t know the embarrassment i feel right now
Edit: Fwiw, I do still hope you have a great weekend. And truly – your opinion doesn’t matter less. I just have a pet peeve with people who say their opinions as if they’re objective lol.
When I first saw it, I thought “Monk!” And the people on youtube and elsewhere on the forums did too. So… as much you may not like, that doesn’t mean the devs were wrong in creating it. And i’m sorry you don’t yet see that.
If it’s helpful, i am on board with it changing colors depending on the spec you’re in. Because the green on WW doesn’t make much sense.
Some people DO need to go outside lol. Look up studies on happiness and life satisfaction. Being outside, feet touching the earth, being near bodies of water… all of these have been proven to increase happiness and boost mood.
So. You can try to shame him for being cliche. But he’s just sincerely proffering something that will benefit them.
Unlike harassing people in the forums, which is what the rest of us are doing lol.
Yea but right now really feels like WW community forcing square peg into round hole by trying to keep their old rotation with the new tier.
yall keep trying to do some kind of Serenity Skyreach Invoker’s Transfer the Power optimization
Secondary stats are so high right now… should be focusing on spread out damage (especially as the tier set is designed around just using more of your abilities more often at slightly higher damage)
It’s not hard to see a bone dust brew / Faeline build being potentially better with new tier as dealing 12% from Faeline Harmony would double dip on Bone Dust Brew (deal 12% extra damage into the brew which creates the damage source which and then does 12% more because of Faeline)
And then just trying to hit more of these big combos (DotC Thunder fist FOF RSK BOK)
Same with Invoker’s, just so much diminishing return from effects like Lust and just in general the tier set is not promoting a burst rotation but is clearly promoting a higher average haste and overall trying to get WW to use more spenders than last tier
If you think those builds are better, you are more than welcome to show the math behind them to see if they are truly better than what is currently being suggested.
It feels like we are trying to shove a square peg into a round hole because WW is in this weird state where we have thrown borrowed power from other expansions on top of borrowed power even though they do not synergize well. Then add more procs on top of the already insane amount of procs we have to deal with… yea it’s not going to synergize well when those procs change what the priority of what you want to do is.
While I agree that we can be seen as trying to force a square peg into a round hole, I believe its because no square hole currently exists.
The amount of work that goes into finding that to recommend in the guides is substantial, iterative, and collaborative. But that doesn’t mean we don’t miss things sometimes. We have the necessary channels in Discord so that people can present new information and it can be discussed and mathed out. So if you feel that you’ve found the square hole that we missed, that’s the place to show it.
