Yes, the issues are connected. Support’s full reply to my comment was:

We have a workaround for this issue listed in this Support article:

https://us.battle.net/support/article/000319972

That said, we’re aware that this doesn’t work for everyone and the root cause is being investigated.

Agreed… problem appears to have to do with the Operating System, as I am able to run it on a Windows 10 machine that has much less memory and graphic capability!

I fixed it by changing out video cards , Went from gtx770’s to a 980ti . gtx 770 will not run dx 12 980 will .

Same error, Windows 7 too.

I’m getting this error on my PC too with Windows 7. Works fine on my laptop.

Same problem,…performed all the suggested scan/repair suggestions,…I got the same result - no problems
Also Windows 7 user

Abyssmic You’r GTX 650 will no longer run the game takes a gtx 900 or better

I have dual GTX 580 SLI cards. I get all of the same errors most WIN 7 users are experiencing.

after i read some comment some people talk about old graphic drive i have same problem and old graphic but why i can play and run game on windows 10 but not 7 i dont think driver is problem

I did update my GTX 580 driver and it does support DX12 but only for WIN10.

today on 7:00 am to 8:00 am sever going down and i think they fix some bug i hope this bug is one of them to fix this bug happen for prepatch release lets wait and see what happen

Good morning! I wanted to share what steps I have taken so far for my dll error.

Since it’s trying to pull a file not found on Windows 7, and I don’t have a lot of files/apps on this laptop, I went ahead and updated to Windows 10. After getting past 2 errors (one regarding a registry update and one where I had to restart the update), I made it to Windows 10. I would recommend having someone help you if you are not familiar or confident with downloading and applying these types of changes.

I fired Warcraft up this morning before work and the cinematic looked beautiful. Since I’ve seen it I skipped it and made it to character screen. It did notify me that I have an out of date video card driver (naturally). I will fix that before logging in.

Ultimately, I know many are not wanting to upgrade, but I did not want to miss out. I am big on pushing hardware to it’s limits before retiring it. I may need to add more RAM (only at 8, as Windows 10 uses quite a bit. Seems to be ~4GB.) But I think if I don’t run anything else except WoW, it should be fine.

Good luck friends!!

im having this issue aswell on windows 7

Naiavenna, did you upgrade from win 7 to win 10 using a download or a Disk / USB stick? I myself have been thinking of doing the upgrade but don’t want to lose connectivity to Google if there is an error and the Win 10 update fails
