WoW lore is basically wood 4 right now.
Incorrect. There are achievements that are percentage based. With a little effort it is easy to extrapolate the numbers from those percentages.
Also any number calculated this way is very likely a gross overestimation as blizz’s metric can and does count a single account as more than one person.
It is certain it is well under a million left.
Wait what… LoLs Lore is phenomenal. Their lore team has taken it to a new level and have established so many fantastic stories and potential places to go in an MMO. Just take a look at their show, Arcane. They release stories that are progressing its lore with champions, the most recent being The Ruination (Although it had issues across platforms) and the amusing Dating Sim storyline they had for their last event, all this in a MOBA of all things, they don’t have to do any of this, no one expects it from that format of game.
To brush it off with “Hurrr LoL lore sucks” is so blind. Cause ya know, WoWs doing so damn well right?
Everything after MoP has been worse than if you just let a fourth grader write the storylines.
As a person that plays multiple games (MMORPGs, Dota, Starcraft , fighting games) i don’t understand the “will you quit”, why would anyone quit a game they love for something they have no idea what it’s gonna be like.
What even is LoL? I got into WoW as my first MMO because I liked Warcraft I and II. I like Warcraft itself, even if I think the lore has gotten a little too goofy and jokey over the years.
I’ll wait for the horrible reviews by people who got rooked.
Nearly every new MMORPG is, at best, “not very good or not better than Wow, FFXIV, and ESO.” At worst they are very bad.
But, surprisingly, it is still better than any new MMORPG that comes out (except for perhaps the other two I mentioned.) MMORPGS just seem to be incredibly hard to make at all.
I’ve WANTED something to be so much better than Wow that I didn’t play Wow again. I’ve wanted that moment like I had with Wow and Everquest(1) where I just never logged into EQ again or even visited the forums to say goodbye; Wow was such a better game that I could not touch EQ again.
Wow was the first MMORPG to do that with EQ. I’m still waiting for the one that does it with Wow.
I mean I’m interested… but information regarding Riot’s MMO is extremely little and the information that is public that its gonna be based in League of Legends and also to add that my expections for any new MMO release is extremely low.
I know riot has Ws in their record with League, Valorant, Arcane, etc which would raise my expections for Riot’s MMO project but still given with how much MMOs in recent years has been released they are either have been mediocre or massive disappointments.
One could say that these MMOs released in recent years that came out weren’t made or published by Riot which is true and every company is different but it doesn’t stop me from still being skeptical or taking new upcoming MMOs with a grain of salt, especially when the ones are overhyped because the MMO community is desperate for a new WoW and if it fails expect the same community to mald and history will repeat it self if next MMO fails.
Nah. I’ve been playing WoW this long. Not gonna stop now.
In my experience LoL is super super toxic , not saying wow isn’t but for what I do in wow I virtually see no toxicity
I don’t think so, unless they do something to me that they can’t buy my token with gold due to economic problems and the gamepass.
But thanks to the Arcane Netflix series, it proved that this world wasn’t as mediocre as its MOBA gameplay was.
LoL urgently needs its MMO, and by the way it will be free, and for the last straw, its lore and world is epic that neither FFXIV and World of Warcraft together would do the same epic.
I’m not so sure about quitting… It’ll be interesting to see how it turns out. Will it be isometric or third/first person? My wife and a few friends have been playing League for years so we’re really excited for it.
It all really depends on how good the LoL Mmo is.
Few have found a formula that has stuck as hard as Warcrafts.
Regarding the question “Will you quit WoW for the LoL MMO?”
I really doubt it. Well, doubt as in I only come back to WoW for 1 month out of a year at a time anymore just to see if I can find some enjoyment in it. None in the current expansion, at least not enough to make me want to create another character to level again. First time for that actually.
No, likely I will just be done with MMO’s mainly as I have been having more fun playing other kinds of games since Shadowlands pretty much ended my addiction to this world. A bittersweet way to go I suppose. I still have good memories at least.
No I wont. I don’t even like LoL. Doesn’t appeal to me at all. LoL is for the grand kids not me.
Oh yeah… I also find their lore to be bad
How is the boat going down if Microsoft just bought it?
I don’t see myself investing in an mmo that doesn’t have mythic+. It’s just fun for me. Raids don’t scratch that same itch
No one knows what the Riot MMO is yet. No one knows if they’ll have good lore writing because no one has read a word of it in the game yet. They did a bit of establishing the world releasing a Netflix series about their world. It is fine, it was better than the Warcraft movie. I just watched it a few days ago. But, regardless of if the Riot metaverse lore is +/- from Blizzard’s, the sticking point is how it will be used in the game.
For me it is a minor point. What I will be watching for is business model, systems competence, and technical competence. We wont know any of that til final beta before launch, that is when those sorts of things start getting set in stone. Considering this is rumored at best to be a 2024 thing, it is meaningless to talk about in 2022
I’ll be following it’s development, but without knowing literally anything about the game other than it’s related to LoL (a series I know almost nothing about, beyond the show Arcane), it’s impossible to say I’ll leave wow for it.
That said… I’m coming back for WotLK classic… and I’ll at least look at the next expansion for Retail (though I regret buying both Shadowlands and BFA, despite paying for both with accumulated token-gold and them both being literally “free” to me, and retail might be too far gone at this point)
Beyond that, I will 100% buy the next FF14 expansion. That company has EARNED my loyalty.
In the interim, I’m kind of hoping for wotlk beta at this point… I barely even want to level my future wotlk alts to 70 in tbc at this point, and about to be unsubbed. SoM is dying/dead… and Lost Ark is missing something/ just not filling the void.
