Will you quit WoW for the LoL MMO

Will I leave WoW for it? Most likely. It’s basically a newer, better version of WoW made by people who learned a lot from Blizz/Activision’s mistakes AND who has a massively established IP ready to go. Riot also makes amazing games and they’ve proven that they know what they’re doing on a top-tier level.

The LoL lore is actually on par (if not better) than WoW’s and it’s been around for a long time. It’s also the most established, secure, and well-planned MMO that may have ever been released with no foreseeable publisher drama and they have a full creative license to do what they want.

It’s gonna be the one that makes WoW into the new UO, where people still play it, but just for nostalgia. No other MMO has ever been released with as much talent and financial stability behind it.

WoW has a lot of built up equity with the playerbase. Some people have been playing the game for 18 years. That’s longer than most marriages, probably.

I don’t think it’s really possible to beat WoW at being WoW. Combat and netcode in WoW is better than the alternatives, and most devs are hung up on open world PvP being essential to the game. Which is just unimaginative to me. It’s basically relying on your players to make the content, since making content is hard to do.

It really depends.

Can they hook me with story, game play, endgame, lore?

If so then maybe, i will try it.

If the world sucks me in then ill retire from wow.

If it has a decent combat system and balanced PVP with BGS and arenas, I will play it.

I don’t really play WoW right now, tbh.

Did not purchase Shadowlands, have not purchased Dragonflight… probably won’t either. Blizzard need to show me, that they can consistently release good content for WoW. So maybe if the Expansion after Dragonflight is good, I will start buying their expansions and actually play WoW seriously again.

That said, Riot has not impressed me with any of their games thus far. Their games having larger playerbases, does not mean they are good games. It is like saying that Fortnite is a good game, or that free to play games overall are good games. They are easily available for a much larger audience, that is about it. Does not mean anything for quality.

We also have not had any information on Riot’s MMORPG whatsoever. We still do not know what it is, or what it is going to be like. Way too early to say whether I would prefer WoW over LoL MMO so far. I have watched a video on the lore, and the lore is pretty cool. But in terms of games, Riot is not as impressive as people make them out to be.

It is like hailing CDPR as the best game developers ever… because of a single title, Witcher 3. Sure, their previous two titles were decent and had a cult following, but Witcher 3 was their first big release, and then came Cyberpunk 2077.

I want more information on the Riot MMORPG, but whether it is preferable to other MMORPGs on the market currently? I seriously doubt it… I doubt they are going to make something that is more interesting than any other MMORPG we currently have.

It will probably also have more microtransactions than Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV combined… which is a straight walk to: “F- your game” for me.

depends how it plays.

if the lore is good and it plays alright imo and isn’t like WoW in the sense i can play casually and still do the hardest content in the game without feeling rushed because everyone pretty much just is done with it then yes. i would have swapped over to ff14 but i don’t like how it plays over WoW imo it doesn’t feel as smooth to me.

in the end though i think i may be done with mmorpg’s in general. have my first child coming in april gonna to put all my time into our child and irl stuff over WoW or games. probably will play video games again as they get older or try getting back into console gaming at the least but for now i might just hang up mmorpg’s. i got a lot of things i want to do in life that are more important to me then playing games i just use it as a way to relax.

Other MMOs already has me pulling my attention away from WoW but I’m willing to try out Riot’s in addition to them.

I’ve been trying out LoL and slowly been getting into their lore and characterization over the years. If the MMO further expands on the lore, while having Black Desert or Blade and Soul’s level of customization with a combo-based action combat system, I’ll prob be just as active in it.

I’m curious if the Riot MMO will try to be an esports game, because they (Riot) have maybe the biggest presence in esports of all the video game companies.

WoW has lost players to FF14, and maybe ESO and other titles, who are into playing dress up, player housing, solo content, community-driven events, and generally just chilling. Instead, WoW chose to focus on esports.

If Blizzard has to compete with Riot in esports, and WoW has limited appeal outside of that, then what is WoW’s niche?

I’ll quit WoW when Half Life 3 comes out

Not to be a hater, I have tried Lol and Dota, they are just as bad as BRoyal games, tired of seeing them tired of a new one coming out, there’s nothing unique about them they are centered on a perspective that I hope phases out soon (Like a flood of isometric games that seems to have ruled the Steam platform).

If its not an fps with small teams against each other, its of no interest. Games that have more tenure would be cs:s, cs:go, r6s, cod, battlefield 4, Enemy Territory.

I’m definitely interested but knowing Riot it’ll likely be f2p.

I didn’t even know there was going to be a LoL mmo. I don’t keep up with LoL much so prolly not.
