Will you quit WoW for the LoL MMO

I doubt it, I’ve spent years trying to find a replacement but every single mmo out there seems to only focus on trying to make one single aspect of their game perfect and neglects everything else.

I find the League of Legends lore much better than WoW in its current state. Imo it’s done with much more logic, deep character devolopments and love for meaningful relationships between characters. Sure, the lore there can’t really be devoloped ingame, but outside of the game they really give their best.
Also Riot is giving the community a lot with frequent shortfilms, music videos and more. You really feel the passion from the people behind it.

It’s way too early to even make a call like that. There’s no in game screenshots let alone gameplay videos.

If it ends up looking good, sure I’ll leave to play it, not permanently though.

I don’t understand this mentality of you can only play one mmo and one mmo alone. Why not all of them?

With that said I hope it’s similar to ffxiv where they encourage you to take breaks and go elsewhere unlike a certain game we all play that tries to hold you for as long as possible and then punish you if you do leave and return

Otherwise then, it’d be a pass.

Yes lets play their mmo to have an even more toxic community than wow has. Great idea no thanks can’t be bothered with 30 year olds acting like they are 10.

That’s not a very smart take to be honest.
The setting or the company itself isn’t the reason that League of Legends is toxic, it’s the game and its genre itself. Its a form of gameplay where it’s only about winning to get to the goal - if you lose a match, this match is over and you invested a lot of time without getting something or climbing the ladder. Therefore toxicity lies in the nature of a game like this. Whether you are winning or not depends on your team mates and if your team mates do dumb stuff they often contribute to a loss, therefore it’s easy to show them frustration and toxicity.
On top of that, LoL is free to play, so when you’re getting banned for toxic behaviour, which happens quite fast, because Riot DOES care, you just make a new account and continue playing.

In an MMO it’s completely different because there is no real “winning” or “losing”, just working together on a goal without repercussions when it’s not working on the first try. Or the player can just have a relaxing solo experience with exploring, farming, crafting and questing.
In WoW toxicity is a problem especially in battlegrounds and M+, where it’s a similar game system like in LoL - winning or losing, dependant on your team, without any gain for that specific match when your team fails. Overall it’s also more bad in WoW because Blizzard doesn’t really care and you can allow yourself to do A LOT of bad stuff before you need to fear any harsh penalties.

I dont even know what it is or is about so no reason to quit. Never heard of it. But I’m tbc classic not retail.

Maybe but doubtful. The Netflix show is hella good though.

One of the highest rated shows I’ve ever seen honestly.

At one point in it’s lifespan it kind of was at a competitive level. The rune pages and runes themselves were a huge gateway in the early stages of LoL’s rise to fame. It is one of the primary reasons it was scrapped, because as time went on and more people joined the grind for optimal rune pages became the divide between those who paid and those who didn’t, and it was a substantial early game advantage.

However, this is no longer the case. The new system they have is leagues better, and completely free of any monetary influence. Personally, I think that LoL’s MMO wont fall flat because of it’s cash shop. It would probably be on a mechanics/graphics/story/content level that breaks it.

LoL is terrible and if it released a few years early or later nobody would play it.

Wouldnt say quit but might try it out. Currently playing FFXIV rn while logging into WoW to raid and run mythics since there isn’t much else to do.

The people behind it are Blizzard people who got outted for Cubicle Crawl culture before Blizzard did.

And no one is arguing that BFA/SL lore isn’t kind of dooky, but you can’t ignore WoW lore in its entirety to prop up LoL.

WoW lore in general has never been that great honestly. It’s ok and has some decent characters, but for the most part pretty bland (though it’s hard to actually tell a story through a multiplayer game without massive amounts of cutscenes and dialog dump, so they’re all mostly pretty bland when it comes to mulitplayer)

You guys are honestly acting like you expect Shakespeare from your game lore. And that LoL is that.

I don’t really know much about LoL lore beyond arcane honestly, and that show is great but I have no clue how it connects to anything else.

FF’s story is considerably better than wow’s but gameplay suffers to tell it.

Frankly it’s just hard to tell a story in an MMO, wow’s story REALLY suffered when they ran the well dry on the RTS stories. So anything after Wrath mostly.

Have to disagree here. MoP had great storytelling, regardless of people bellyaching about Garrosh.

Nope. But would wait a few months after release to play it. Like New World.

It wasn’t bad honestly, but they ending was stupid imo.

It’s from riot, it’ll be f2p, feel free to play off launch.

While I understand that they sacrificed Garrosh to be the square peg/round hole villain for MoP’s ending, I still feel it was better executed than most of the villains who came after him.
