Will you "need" on gear you can't use, then sell it?

Who is trolling? I am being 100% honest about what I will be doing. I don’t know why that upsets you

Will likely recreate my hunter from Classic so will be able to use everything so there is nothing I can’t use so your premise is off.

If you listen closely you can hear the sound of every paladin laughing.

T1 bracers got Druid drop. ML is on. They want them but by the common logic applied here, they are selling for 150g on AH. Everyone roll? Seems like faulty logic.

The rabbit hole is endless with loot distribution but it is entirely different in raids than in an everyday scenario with boe dropping.

There are not that many BoE drops in dungeons. There are uncommon drops, but you can roll greed on them and need on rares/epics. If you roll greed on rare/epic BoE items, you’re going to have that item taken from you. Just have everyone roll need and have no hard feelings no matter who wins.

If a SOJ drops, i’m rolling need #sueme

Why would item be taken? Just curious

Because the other 4 are going to roll on it. Come on man, this is earth. Earth inhabits humans. Humans are cruel. You WILL without a doubt, run into this very scenario as you play. Don’t come crying to us when it happens

Because there is a high chance 1 of the other 4 people in your random group will succumb to the temptation and roll need for the guaranteed win.

Then you should not play with randoms and instead play with only people you trust and if they break that trust cut all ties with them both in game and in real life.

So basically they will ninja loot it? Well that certainly isn’t good.

Depends on the group.

Pug: depends on group loot rules at the start.

Guild: Hell no.

It can and will happen even in a guild. unless you are a ruthless dictator in your control of that guild.

They can do them. I’ll do me.

bring back wowjack***.com or whatever, we will need it for classic if people are truly planning to do this

Really though there is a disproportionate amount of people advocating for ninja loot on forums when in Reality when we are in classic it will be no where near this sort of mentality. Part of this stems from Private Servers is my theory

Depended on your server, on Lightning blade being a ninja didn’t get you any sort of negative clout mainly because most people use the phrase ninja to mean ‘‘i lost a roll on an item’’ and not ‘’ the group leader scammed us out of gear’’

No one but obvious troll posters are advocating for ninja looting. You are simply choosing to interpret everything that differs from your view as “ninja looting.” If the group agrees to all roll need on high value BoEs (twink gear mostly), then that is not ninja looting. There is a whole range of loot rules that can be in effect, so talking to your group members is super important, so everyone has the same expectations.

Or you can just assume the way you’d like it to be is the “right” way and anyone who deviates from that is a ninja. That would be way too much drama for me.

If the group agrees that is totally fine. “Hey this blue dropped let’s all roll need” sure if that’s the general consensus, there is no ill intent and no harm done. The most apparent form of ninja loot is when an Upgrade drops for a particular class in the group, they Actually Need it. Legit Need it. So they will roll need. Someone else doesn’t need it and they roll Need as well and win it. That’s a ninja loot. By definition, objectively speaking not subjective by my standards. I played in vanilla, and if you pulled a stunt like that, you would be Legitimately labeled a Ninja looter for your actions, once again not subjective to my view point.
