Yes there is something preventing them rolling GREED for money. That is, rolling NEED for money. And since I will need money, I will be rolling need on everything I know that has value. I don’t really care what u think. You aren’t buying my mount
Nothing prevents everyone from rolling need either. Someone getting a mount from it has more value in thenling run than it becoming vendor trash later.

Except. It doesn’t prevent the last person from being a tool and hitting need. The correct answer is everyone need and if you’re that super awesome helpful community minded person? You give it to the guy who could equip it or sell it for a mount.
Making NEED rolls bind the item to the winner would go a long way toward removing the incentive to be a tool, would it not?

Bingo you just answered the question. That last guy hitting Need Is ninja looting it. Literally. Now you go for ironforge and post what happened, stop by the realm forum, check out their guild discord with a screenshot of what happened, perhaps with some witnesses. Get the word out. Protect others. If someone actually Needs that item and someone rolls need with them? They just ninja looter it.

No one is going to care about these trivial things. No one is going to their guild discord, no one is going to Reddit, there are no server forums, and with layering each server could very well House 12k+ players. You’ll be screaming down an empty hallway
Ninja looting is different than rolling need. Looting the majordomo chest and hearth is ninja looting
Until the layering goes away I’ll have your name written down don’t worry.
