Will you be doing Grand Marsha/Warlord Grind?

If you’re solo you run AV zergs.

If you are connected and can do premades you spam WSG. Push the other team into the GY while your Drood runs flags.

Repeat for months until you finally just quit WoW.

Back then, on our server (Skywall), if you wanted to grind to 14, you HAD to join a guild called “Time Sink” (alliance side had a diff name - don’t remember). You get in the guild queue and for each rank you had a minimum number of bgs (and time slots) that were required to play. It was mostly WSG and always a full premade. As you rode up the requirements naturally went up. All of it was tracked and every week anyone that cared would know whom on Horde and whom on Alliance would get it. It was simply impossible to get ranks over 11’ish without being a member of that guild.

It all ended the day cross realm bg’s opened up pre BC. Impossible then to control the honor. I felt for those that had been in the queue for over a year only to have it all disappear. I myself was never a part of it for the time commitment and fixed hours at the highest levels were insane. I fully expect that most classic servers will have guilds like this.

It be pretty awesome to say I’m hwl\GM on classic… almost resume worthy jkjk

But with this.

You’ll be a solo zerg in AV.

Easy win.

Damn. I was doing it wrong all along.

If Blizzard has pre-made pairing in BGs, you can actually do a fairly efficient rank grind with a 4 man party.

Warrior, Paladin, Mage, Druid.

If you primarily get pugs as a result of your small group, you can win a lot of games.

I’ll be searching for this group in Classic when I start ranking (only to the mount, probably)

Never ever, not in a million years.

I hate PVP. So no.

Don’t make plans one way or another. Just enjoy your time in the game and see where it leads. I made R12 in vanilla. I just loved pvp and fell in with a good group that was pretty successful at BGs. This was in a time of my life where I was changing careers and was in school, so I had a lot of time for the game. It was clear to me though, that R13 or 14 would require account sharing and I just wasn’t into doing that. So what? I still had a great time.

This time, I don’t expect there to be quite the frenzy around honor/rank. I could be wrong, we will all see. I expect to pvp again. I will also spend lots of time doing the other things I enjoy in game - fishing and herbing.

Have fun. Enjoy the ride. Be thankful we are being given this chance to play again. Leave all your petty jealousy behind - it’s all just colored pixels anyway.

you going alliance?

If you’re rolling alliance an are on the mission to hit R14, LMK! we can add each other and group up. I’ll be rushing to 60 and going from there. Professions, Pvping, etc.

What’s the point of rushing to 60? The honor system won’t even be in the game yet.

to get ahead of professions / mount / BIS etc. by time honor drops, ill have enough pots / bombs / epic mount / and raid gear that’s BIS before getting gear… like weapons at least.

Almost assuredly not, but it will depend a bit as to what the weekly pointcaps for the server I play on are, how well blizzard enforces anti account sharing measures, and/or how unionized the process is.

I could reliably clear 450-550k /week and probably clear 650 for the 13-14 grind if I had to… but any more than that and I have zero chance of getting it done…

In OG vanilla, those numbers where no where near enough on my rather competitive server… even the unions that did it (they where rarely able to unionize) typically did 750-850k

Absolutely not. I’ll just PvP on my downtime and see how far I go.

Going for the Rank 10 Grind.
