Will Wrath Survive for ICC w the Dwindling population?

I dont think so, Nax classic did not have a lot of players because it was really difficult, i saw a LOT of guilds broken because of this, mine included

I think it’s because it came out same time as Shadowlands. I know that’s why I didn’t do Naxx40 and came back for TBC

People left because of no RDF, people have left because of terrible decisions on both sides of the game, between blizzards trash decisions with removing RDF and the community demanding that they maintain a community that NEVER existed in the first place, it is 2023, we have 19 years of EXPERIENCE with the game and everyone who’s played in 2004 are now in their mid to late 30s or older, we have significantly LESS time than we did then largely because of ECONOMIC reasons, we also grew up, we got married, we had kids and most likely own a home that still requires you to have a job to afford you and your families survival.

Our economy has gone down the drain so much that inflation and the failure to adjust pay rates in all job fields to ensure people can survive. Because of this people are working longer shifts just to meet ends meet.

i wish i could put more than one like on this, hits the nail directly on the head

Oh wow a doompost, been a while since I saw one. Wrath population is still very healthy, if anything ICC will bring even more players.

If they would add RDF more people would probably play.

Like all those people claiming the classic museum would be popular forever and now they’re bragging about 100 people playing HC mode on a server over a year later.

Turns out playing on a server that will never have new content or updates ever again is boring and the vast majority had no interest.

The real test imo is whether Wrath Classic survives Diablo 4…

Almost every single person I know, including some who quit all other games years ago, are hyped for D4 and are planning to at least try it.

If it ends up being actually good, I think you’re going to see pretty heavy competition on which game people make time for… Personally, I’m currently planning on sticking Wrath out until the end, but that’s mostly because I like my guild… A few months ago I’d have been hyped to do cata again as well, but the bot problem is killing any capacity I have left to care about the franchise, and if D4 lacks longevity, then it’ll likely be back to FFXIV when wrath is done.

I heard that Age of Conan is going to kill WOW, Almost every single person I know, including some who quit all other games years ago, are hyped for AoC and are planning to at least try it.

Im just logging on, doing the ToC dailies, and logging off until something is done for actually catching up.

Its absolutely insane how absent minded Blizzard is like they cant think through a problem and what their actions will cause.

Yeah I was around when AoC released… no one cared. Ditto Warhammer and Wildstar.

Diablo franchise, on the other hand, actually has a massive fanbase. I’d add that much of the gamer generation is now on kids/house/family stages of their lives… and part of the potential appeal of the daiblo ARPG genre vs the wow MMO genre is that it’s less consistently time consuming. That gives it a bit more mass appeal as player’s irl priorities shift.

Now whether the GAMEPLAY actually makes people want to do more than try it, is the question. D3 sold like hotcakes too, but it was a terribly flawed game overall. They’ve at least seemed to have nailed the more mature theme of the franchise this time around with D4.

A lot of people in my guild myself included will be playing. The diablo endgame loop though doesn’t really thrill me like it used it anymore so I’ll be back

Brain dead developers once again fail the community and seemingly don’t give af. Just waiting on my sub to expire

i only have the building quests and ebon blade quests in ardent tournament grounds. my days on wow got effectively shorter.

I think im almost to the crusader title, so im not rerolling anything. Its getting to the point my server needs free transfers off of it or just merge it with another one. So many crusader tokens or whatever they are as well and that “catch up” gear is laughable.

Raiding numbers are actually higher than retail…I will continue playing Classic until Cat…at which point I will stop as Cat was the beginning of the end for me…although if they may massive changes to Cat I might continue to play

Not to derail, but this is actually the largest concern I have with d4.

The closed D4 beta leaks had the end game as being “non existent” and it’s slated for a mere 3 month ladder season rotation which implies a pretty meager end game progression timeline.

I’d add the pvp will be what makes or breaks the game for me personally… The rampant botting ruining casual pvp in classic is a main factor for me looking for better options already.

i need roughly 12-13k on two factions and the third is at 6k away. i’ve got probably 31 days and crusader title is mine. and thats if i miss no dailies and don’t do any old world quests.

The first tier of raids were actually really really neat, I’d stick around just to see those, fights had neat mechanics and gimmicks that were new at the time.

To me its just insane that no one thought H+ would have any negative impact on the game. Well… no one at Blizzard.
