Will Wrath Survive for ICC w the Dwindling population?

Wrath population minus the bots is down. There is no denying this, one only has to see the many guilds recruiting for “new” talent.

Friend list full of players in Retail and add injury to insult Wrath Dev team in shambles
with the company leaving this game mode on life support

I love Wrath, the superior product vs say retail ( one can play both but why play an inferior version aka DF)

with numbers going down after each season/patch will Wrath survive for ICC? Will ICC bring in more players?

Will Blizzard actually care enough to take care of a great game mode that is Wrath?

Or is it doomed to just die?

simple answer? no.
nuanced answer still no, but thats because all they had to do was give us original wrath. they couldn’t help but infect the game with a bunch of retail changes. they’ve infected classic with retail. if they left it as is and did a potential prog server final patch of each phase it might’ve had a chance.

It will survive icc but then its dead. 25 hc LK was one of the least killed bosses ever. Barely over 100 guilds killed him in 12+ months with 30% damage and nobody did it without +damage buff. After tho its dead, Phase 1 cata might be good for couple weeks but lol phase 2 ZG/ZA dungeon spam for months will be so fun and LFR again!!!

agreed WoTLK is way closer to retail then vanilla.

What does this even mean?

We currently have higher numbers logging raids than WoW Classic or TBC Classic had.

Will we continue to have that through ICC? I doubt it, but I suspect more people will raid ICC than raided Sunwell in TBC Classic or Naxx in WoW Classic.

Maybe that’s why I’m not playing it very much. Hmmm.

they been saying wow is doomed to die since 2009 it’s now 2023 and still going. it’s not going anywhere. even classic era is seeing population growth

Except wrath classic will die, that is the sad truth, the lack of RDF will definitively kill wrath classic especially if they consider moving into cata classic without it.

The lack of RDF is the core reason why people are quitting in droves, why play when gearing alts isn’t viable or when you’re late to the party? You lose players by unintentionally building a wall to keep them out.
I saw this first hand on a now very defunct private server that’s based around a term we like to call a fun realm meaning there’s custom gear and content with a max level of 255 (generally everyone is strong), now what actually killed the server is the general lack of play retention not because of no rdf, it had it but it was largely useless but ironically because of the players literally and figuratively gatekeeping, the long standing players flat out prevented new players from entering gearing dungeons for that sweet sweet strong gear. New players without the help of long standing players such as myself left faster than you can say “F”.

What we have right now is of similar circumstances, while yes it’s largely blizzards fault for not including or even considering RDF, it’s also on the players themselves, between stacking on 5 servers because the dominant faction prevented ACTUAL gameplay in classic to as far as obeying your internet boyfriends aka your youtube overlords. Some servers have less than 10k servers and some have 5k or less which exaggerates the current problem which is the lack of players for dungeons that are relevant to the person in the moment, in the case of new players or alts, dungeons they can reliably do which are normals and regular heroics.

Of course you can say “JOIN A GUILD!” or “MAKE YOUR OWN GROUPS!” or “REROLL ON MUH MEGURSURVUR SO YOU CAN BE FORCED TO RELEVEL AND STILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME EXACT PROBLEMS YOU ALREADY ARE HAVING”. I hate to nuke your little world my dude but none of these “solutions” fix the problem that the game faces which as I said is the lack of players to do these dungeons with.(normals, heroics and might I add heroic+ due to high GS requirements for a raid catch up mechanic)

This. Wrath isn’t gonna die out.

Why wouldn’t it?

When raids come out, people come back and do those raids… I mean they’ll probably just raid-log, but they’ll be back.

You must be on a dead server, or more likely just a dishonest classic era player once again trying to gaslight people
into thinking wotlk is somehow dying lmao.

not the official blizzard version probably, but the private options will thrive because they keep the original wrath going.

Well that’s no answer at all lol… because retail currently is doing very well.

honestly just sad you think this is even a thing people come back for classic era and tbc that had none of this and people are still playing right now. EVERY game has low and high points that’s just the life cycle of games.
