Will we ever get a dev reason for the change of heart on RDF?

I mean technically didnt RDF come out at the end of WotLK?

But why? Why was it mentioned in dev interviews months ago? Why am I asking you about it here and now? Why is the coffee machine broken? Why won’t you show us your feet? What’s the reason? Will I ever get an answer? If so, then why? If not, then why? Why?

I have to wonder why people never stop to think things through before posting absurd stuff like this.

Reason: Engagement is dropping faster than a Tank on Lich King with no heals. And we got a call from ‘upper management’ wanting to know why. …we want to keep our jobs.

Or they just said no to rdf at release and always had intentions of releasing it with icc like it originally was and just wanted to drink the salty tears of the playerbase.

They didnt cave to the whiners in tbcc wanting dual spec early and they didnt cave to the whiners wanting rdf early. It has nothing to do with being authentic and everything to do on how they want to implement things in the game they developed.

If players dont like they have 3 options.

  1. Use the tool that was put in the game and ignore rdf isnt in the game.
  2. Continue to play the game while making posts of wanting rdf daily being ignored for 11 months until its released as per the original patch.
  3. Go play a different version of wow or unsub and enjoy life.

i mean technically didn’t remote queue BGs come out with Ulduar?

technically didn’t random BG queue come out as a direct response to RDF?

technically didn’t dual spec come out in Ulduar?

technically didn’t earlier mounts/flying and faster flying come out with TOGC?

technically didn’t EXP from BGs come out with TOGC?

These people never actually give a straight answer. Its important to know and understand that. Even if they have ZERO intention to add something they will always toss on a, like this time, “not at this time” at the end which leaves it open.

I think it is pretty clear they just have some spreadsheet somewhere. When the sheet shows it on this side of the line they roll the decision in that way, when it crosses the line, they suddenly want to do it.

I also think when you look forward to Cata not having RDF in the game becomes a lot more work to take it out and make changes to core systems that just getting it in now and working is the play. The team is small, making huge changes isn’t something they can do quickly. It is just an opinion obviously because I am not sitting in the office but it certainly feels like this is the reason a lot of things go the direction they do when it comes to Classic WoW versions.

None of what you said is relevant to anything. Blizzard didn’t release RDF now because of any original time line. That’s been proven by their own comments and their own actions. Systems and features were never on a time line, only content. This has been pointed out dozens of times by dozens of people.

No RDF was a bad decision. Full stop.

that’s exactly what it was. this was Blizzards plan all along. they have to time out their games right but now since ow, d4 and dragonfail are fails this is the perfect time to drop rdf tho its on time for icc. they are already making money from Hardcore so they will need to milk that some until icc.

brians a joke lol so idc what he says

Please stop using common sense… this is confusing the audience!

Of course they did.

People fail to realize that it would be a major undertaking to refactor the game to have it in earlier. They are dropping the patches they originally did which has all of the improvements, additional features, raids, dungeons, etc.

So major every pserver run from someone’s mom’s basement does it.

It’s really not that major.

pirated servers weren’t on the same scale, offloaded processing tho the client, and were unsecure.

they’ve made too many changes. they cannot just copy/paste rdf from retail or wotlk

Well there ya go… What was I thinking – EZ button is all I needed.
I am glad you are here to keep us on track.

And we don’t know if those “p” servers are running the new framework w/the old code or the old frame work with the old code…

but according to some (not you)…what would I know?
They know better than anyone else.

Most people want RDF.

It is very simple; MONEY. There has probally been a sub drop while people wait for ICC. RDF gives them a reason to come back to run instances easier, thus entertaining instead of standing in Dal

You can specifically target dungeons you want to do within RDF. Honestly your story here is just not something I believe. You’re free to not like RDF, but you’re making things up for yourself here.

The dungeon grind for PreBiS is something a tryhard/sweaty guild would be spamming for, targeting dungeons is a thing with or without RDF.
