I think it’s now canon due to time travel that Tyrande already went on a date with Illidan, but lost interest due to the fact that he tried to pass off Illidan’s poem as her own.
I wasn’t aware each zone had it’s own continuity. “Hey we’re trying to kill you on the other side of the continent it counts as attacking first if you retaliate over here!”
I wonder if when the writers revealed Sylvanas had been operating with the express goal of starting a war and causing as many people to die as possible that they felt bad for all the people who had been defending her decisions and insisting she was trying to save her people. Not knowing that players would keep doing it even after they knew.
That is not the point. If Jaina was a Horde leader she would be dead cuz Baine feels sorry humans were harmed by her actions. Yet she doesn’t face justice because the writers favor her.

Far as I know, the horde PC/forsaken weren’t involved with what Sylvanas was doing. They were looking for the artifact to help seal up the tomb of Sargeras.
Alliance side, I think it was just Genn, his gilnean forces and the player. The rest of alliance was also trying to locate the artifact
Yeah, that’s the irony in stormheim, the horde forces were there legitimately for the joint effort to stop the Legion.
Maybe Sylvanas would have pulled some off once she realized she needed some muscle for the last step, maybe she would have tried something else if she didn’t already have forces in hand. I don’t know, I can’t speak definitively on a hypothetical.
Ironically if Genn had the ability to track her down all along without her noticing, his pearl harbor stunt was the worst thing he could have done if he just wanted her head.
Got to admit though. The final cinematic is still one of the best we’ve gotten out of Legion. Genn clinging to ceiling and yelling Sylvanaass! still gives me chills when I rewatch it on ocassion
