This will setup a huge world revamp IMO though. I’d imagine a huge engine update and bringing the game further into the graphical future. It’s either that or they do some epic time jump after and have new heroes. You can only ride thrall and the like for so long. Issue is, there the new characters introduced just don’t succeed, evident from every non Thrall, jaina, varian expansion failing.

If you think about it, as long as WoW still makes a lot of money it’s probably illegal for Blizz to stop making expansions. It would be like, a violation of their fiduciary duty to their shareholders maybe idk

This is a dumb comment.
So many folks seem adamant that there will be more expansions after, but I think this is the set up for bringing WoW into a completely modern engine. Whether this is WoW 2 or their biggest expansion yet won’t matter. The game just needs to be pivoted into a new game engine eventually. This will be 6 years later which only seems reasonable.
No, it’s to end the last 2 decades of stories and kick of the next 2 decades.

Way back, thousands of years ago, they said they envisioned 10 expansions. This was the 10th. So anything past that is icing on the cake, I guess. I think at the time they expected to have a WoW 2 or something out by now, but that never happened.
There are so many story arc’s after this. So no, I don’t believe this is the last expansion. If anything Azeroth gets destroyed. Horde heads over to outlands and alliance heads to Argus. Then we do the BL3 thing and meet on some new planet. Etc Etc…
